Getting your power from an ongrid wall socket is easier. No solar to watch and maintain. No watering batteries, etc. Living is easier. Just LIE say you are offgrid, with nothing to take care of which is ideal for lazy people such as yourself.

I was as off the grid as you can get. I showed our solar power production literally every day out there and you never heard generators unless I was running BIG power equipment.

@thediyworld When did you ever show how many KWh your solar system in NY produced? All you showed was how many watts were coming in from your shaded panels and the state of your junker batteries.

Thank you. It is so exciting as we go more and more off the grid. I mean, we were as off the grid as you can get in New York but here on our new homestead to take a fully on the grid house off the grid is a real challenge.

I know what your talking about this is a tough job but someone has to do it.
Well, nobody has to do it but it sure gives you comfort with winter coming and the snow falling (it is now). We lose power out here a lot. I know I will not have to suffer.
@thediyworld How many generators did you bring from Pine Bush? The only way you’re going to survive any prolonged power outage is with a generator and plenty of on grid gasoline. Better get those junk batteries installed in the garage soon!
The batteries are good. I have two generators stuck in the back corner of the garage. Not going to be needed due to having solar panels and battery backup.
