Voting Bots And A Stronger NSFW Community!
So!
I occasionally make use of the bid voting bots
LOTS of controversy around them on site and for good reason
Since I see people upvoting their literal shit content..as well as the fact that a lot of people don't know how to use the bidbots so even if you bid correctly some moron at the end could bid $5 and throw everyone's [even their own] bids off WILDLY
So..its dicey..
A few whales offer things like Whaleshares and BitShares but getting those tokens is super hard...you can't buy them you have to win or receive them...
So although I much prefer the upvote Whaleshares method..for now it's a bit unhelpful to mitigate the bidbots.
Why do I even bother with bid bots??
It's a good question since overall I'm kind of opposed to them.
The short answer is because I have to.
The reality is that NSFW content on steemit is HEAVILY CENSORED
The fact that no one can even read the tittle of your post before opening up the thumbnail makes it about 50% less promotable to the steemit community...cos understandably not everyone wants to open NSFW posts when they have NO IDEA wtf they're going to see!
[I personally hate when I accidentally open anything involving fisting cos...no..ick lol]
I know my content is solid. And I know it deserves more attention. But as steemit is now for NSFW posts..it gives us an extreme disadvantage.
There is also the disadvantage that comes with the transparency of the blockchain vs peoples messed up feelings about porn overall.
You may watch it and enjoy it...but will you admit to the community that you do with an upvote....???
Many would say no because their spouse would see, it's a business steemit and would look unprofessional etc etc.
This is less of a problem with steemit [cos transparency ftw!] and more of a social problem with our sexual dis functionality. A lot of adult human beings still have problems with the sight of a naked body.
I know. But ya.....
Regardless it is another hit to the NSFW community and our ability to promote and make $ on steemit.
I've been brainstorming ways to help the NSFW community and grow it....
I think developing a stronger NSFW community will help deal with the dread spam accounts [ you know those guys making $ from posts of stolen badly sourced porn they did nothing to create except find on any old website...] since a lot of us original NSFW content creators get trapped under freakin PAGES of spammy NSFW posts making .01-$50 upvotes for..nothing basically.
Myself and @peppernrino are coming up with some plans to help NSFW as a community flourish..
and make it so my porn friends are more comfortable posting here...
[nothing is more off putting to an adult model than seeing their fellow adultworkers hard work being profited off by random dudes who found it and posted it here..that's half the reason cammodels hate tube sites. Cos you making all that ad share and..where my cut?!!?]
In summation, yes I use bidbots. But I wouldn't if
- There were more open ways to do stuff like whale or bitshares
- NSFW was easier to promote without assistance
- I didn't have to compete with pages of outright spam, as NSFW is the most spammed tag EVER.

I belive we need a dedicated steem-based front-end for NSFW. With SMT maybe.

The reason I follow you and not most of the NSFW content here is exactly that - most NSFW posts here seem to be guys harvesting pics from the web and putting them here.
Much more interesting to follow an actual person - you know with all those other characteristics that make up a person.. Like personality, beliefs, opinions, etc...

The big thing you can do to combat the spam? Be a person. You interact with the people who comment on your posts. That's a huge deal, and any adult entertainer can tell you just how much value that has on your brand. You're definitely doing it right.
And yes, there are too many sex-negative people out there on the internet. Kinda sucks, but that's what it is.
indeed! and the sex negative society was more of an add on like, its bad enough when we have to deal with that socially..and now we also get to deal with mad censorship AND spammy bot accounts
i swear a part of me thought about making a seperate spammy bot NSFW account to rake in the big $. But I couldn't stomach it since I KNOW THESE PEOPLE I WOULD BE STEALING FROM!!!

its also the only tag where users get away with so much plagiarism..again because socially we don't tend to respect Adult Workers overall...you don't see that kind of terrible sourcing and stealing allowed nearly as much on other tags on this site
#nsfw is literally 99,999% spam. ( Unlike the general created feed, which is a mere 99% spam) I used to flag before I realized it cost me voting power! Now I just mute them all.
ya it sucks! i used to do the whole steemcleaners thing and report posts [coos the one time i downvoted one of those account THEY ALL CAME FOR ME] but ya even that didn't help a lot..mostly because steemcleaners made their source policy super lax..as long as they claimed somewhere it wasn't theirs and some random place they found it [like tumblr..><] then they were off the hook ><
Which, to me barely does anything....
I used to participate in all the NSFW photography contest back in my early days on Steemit. The fact that those posts had such a negative "stigma" attached to them really sucked. The post rewards were low, but my aim was to win the contest rewards to make up for it. Bodies are bodies, especially when it comes to artistic nude photography.

Agreed. Now that we're discussing it, I'm thinking I should put up a NSFW post this week just because. I haven't in a few months, so it will be fun to see how my newer followers react to it 😁 Just for shits and giggles. LOL

I've been disappointed myself trying to find NSFW content here. Along with the fact I can't actually turn off NSFW filters despite the option to existing, it's even harder for me to find nsfw artists than it is to find nude models like yourself.
I want to chalk it up to the platform being young, but there needs to be an overhaul of search and content ratings. Maybe a checkmark option to flag your content as "created by you", so that even if people can abuse it at least we can sift through OC better.
oo i like that checkmark idea! like to flag original content creators...i mean that could work site wide too... =D
and ya the glitch with the hiding the NSFW is a bummer..basically have to redo it every time you move to a new page!
