I just noticed I could embed vimeo.com videos as well not just youtube... [NSFW due to video content]

in #nsfw7 years ago (edited)

I did a post on guitarists earlier and I encountered a Stephan Forte UNCENSORED version of a song called Sector A: Undead that I made a post I called 50 Shades of Exorcist as it seems to have undead, bondage, nudity, cannibalism, and heavy dark religious overtones in it.

I noticed Youtube has since censored that video, but apparently it is still available on vimeo. I am posting this here to show that we can now embed Vimeo videos as well as to preserve this pretty intense video. It is WELL made it is just very dark. The guitar mixture of Djent and Neo-Classical is pretty formidable.

Sort:

That was the song I was looking for:

Marty Friedman - "UNDERTOW" Official Music Video

I did a guitar series awhile back on guitarist going up from the invention of the guitarist through current times. I touched on Marty Friedman some in that series. I've met him before, and seen him perform live with Megadeth.

Cool, I don't know much about Marty Friedman and even about Megadeth, except for a couple of albums (cassettes such as Peace Sells...but Who's Buying?) I used to own as a kid. Never seen both live.

I tought about your answer when I noticed this just came out:

MARTY FRIEDMAN - SELF POLLUTION

Yeah... Mart Friedman did not perform on Peace Sells. I believe he only performed on the Rust In Peace album which is one of my favorites. He may have performed on one other after that.

I wasn't aware he was not on Peace Sells. I'm not sure what were the other albums I was familiar with. Maybe it's the only one I used to have. I would have to (re)discover this band once again.

Recently I became aware of the term "neo-classical metal". Early Yngwie was my first introduction to it, but we just called it heavy metal back then in my neighborhood. Probably my favorite metal genre though.

Yeah... Neo-Classical and Neo-Classical Metal are the same thing. :) I did this POST for it for my Metal Tree series...

My favorite sub-genre of Metal tends to be Progressive Metal. I go back to it over and over again, but I like most of the sub-genres quite a bit. I didn't enjoy Grindcore that much when I covered it in the series.

Yeah I tried Grindcore and was not impressed much.

Oh yeah! I discovered that we could embed Vimeo videos on steemit 2 months ago. You can check here on this post the video I'm talking about. ;)

However, what surprise me a little bit now, is find that your post was flagged to make this not openly visible. I didn't watch the video yet since I am thru a very poor internet connection at the moment. But once I watch it, I'll see how NSFW it is. Because I plan to test how Strict these steemit's Guard Dogs goes as to censor a kickass music video I have between hands. ;)

I flagged it NSFW myself. If you use NSFW as one of your tags it sets it so people have to choose to view it. No one at steemit did this.

The worst that would happen is if you did something blatantly NSFW and you didn't flag it as such people would likely flag it/down vote it as we do have some kids and such using this platform as well.

So while we do not censor, we do appreciate people using the NSFW tag so people can opt into viewing it.

Oh! good to know that now mate. I didn't know about this feature before. So, simply using the NSWF tag in your posts, you auto-censor-flag them? Uhmm, interesting. :)
I will have to watch the video you are sharing here entirely first. Just to ponder how prude you can go judging your own stuff. And then, in this way I will know how I should post mine. LoL

Anyway, I guess, as cheeky as my experimental essence tend to go, I probably will post mine without the auto-censor tag and test/check the level of general prudery of the powers-that-be in steemit. Haha!

Well in the early days the initial image for your post could be an animated GIF that would show up in the list of posts. Prior to this feature I once saw a pretty graphic blow job that people could not OPT into seeing.

It isn't really about PRUDERY for me. It is about people having the option to see things. I don't think forcing people to see graphic violence or graphic sex without them choosing to do so is a good thing. Like I said there are some kids on here too, but all they have to do at the moment is simply click REVEAL IT or go to steemd.com and they can view it anyway.... There is no censorship, but yes the NSFW tag was also created as we have had some porn stars on here before as well as members who woul post amateur porn that was full on hardcore sex. It wasn't censored, but it was hidden with NSFW and the posts still did okay.

Prior to the ability to hide posts so they had to OPT to reveal them such posts would be voted into oblivion, and they would make no money. At least with the current system they can still earn things.

The video I shared has full female nudity in several locations, as well as bondage, suspension, and some pretty graphic violence scenes that hint at cannibalism and other things. It is well made, and I stumbled upon it for the guitar work, but I am a fan of good artistic production, and of horror movies and literature. This qualifies as that... apparently youtube decided it couldn't be shown there, as my original link to it is gone... and I had to seek out this alternative.

Oh cool! Wonder when this got embed-able :P

Not sure I just noticed the video that was the cornerstone of one of my posts was no longer viewable on youtube. I searched around and found the vimeo one and posted the link to it as a reply in the original post and sure enough it showed up in the post. So I thought I'd post about it. This is officially my second ever NSFW post, and it is actually about the same video. ;)

Haha cool! Yeah I was going to do the same way back when youtube closed down a video of mine that I uploaded to share here.

Then didn't bother since I couldn't embed.

Well maybe you should go do that on vimeo. :) I wonder if vid.me stuff is embeddable yet? I'd like to see vid.me and bitchute embeddable. Soundcloud too.

Agree on that, embed everything!

but no, don't think vid.me is yet.

I only have one NSFW post, but it might have been exaggeration. :P It was a scripted version of fyrstikken's video. :D

Heheh.... yeah I stumbled across this video when I was making a post on neo-classical guitarists. The video is so well made that I thought it was worthy of showing even though it is dark, disturbing, and does have its fair share of nudity. The production values and visuals are very well crafted.

It is just an instrumental song with a dark dark story crafted behind it. I found the video purely by accident. It is artistic as can be... just very dark. Horror fans likely will enjoy the visuals. :)

Mmmm...

Kool aid...

I've seen this video before and I don't care to see it again. It reminds me of the darkness I see in Tool's videos but this is even darker and more disturbing. So I listened to 2 minutes of it without watching. Can't say I even liked the sound very much.

I simply don't understand why peoplelike this sort of thing, it is so extremely foreign to my being.

I like the music quite a bit. The again I play guitar and play pretty much every style of guitar music that has ever been made. I particularly appreciate technical skill. This is a difficult piece.

As to the dark video. People like it for the same reason they like horror movies. I don't care for the suspension, bondage, etc in it myself but it was a well made video.

Some people like it. If everyone only liked the same thing as everyone else it would be a very boring world.

Amazing sound, specifically from 2:13 to 2:20!

Unfortunately, I have not followed your Steemit metal series, so I would be curious to hear what you think about BabyMetal (I was looking for something else as a counterproposal tonight but I was not able to find what I was looking for):

BABYMETAL - ギミチョコ!!- Gimme chocolate!! (OFFICIAL)

BABYMETAL - KARATE (OFFICIAL)

BABYMETAL - THE ONE (OFFICIAL)

I have never heard of Baby Metal. I will listen to it tomorrow... and let you know.

While you're at it, take a look at my brother's band, he's the guitarist/video producer (Darkest Media) and starting a U.S. tour tomorrow:

Depths Of Hatred - "Revocation" (Feat. Elliot Desgagnes of Beneath The Massacre)

DEPTHS OF HATRED - Son Of Perdition

Depths Of Hatred - "Misery Enslaved"

You should throw things like that in the replies to THIS POST as it is a table of contents for my series I did. So it would be relevant and wouldn't be shackled to one of the two NSFW posts I've ever done and thus get less views.

As I was doing the various styles I always asked people to share more videos of those styles.

I'll listen to these tomorrow. It is late and I'm about to head to bed, and my wife is already in bed so I don't want to blast music at the moment. :)

lol

You're a fucking typing machine, it's hard to keep up with you. ;-)

I'll try to catch up to your metal anthropology system. I've got the Global Metal DVD, so I'm quite interested in your metal classification project. I feel like I can contribute...

"undead, bondage, nudity, cannibalism, and heavy dark religious overtones" aaaaannnd Im out! Not my cup of tea :D

That's why I warned. It has some very well done visuals. I actually grabbed it for the guitar work, and was not EXPECTING the video the first time I saw it. I saw the word UNCENSORED for a guitar/instrumental video and the guy is a French Guitar Virtuoso. I wasn't expecting that video. It has two scenes I thought were particularly cool, but large parts of it are not my cup of tea either. Thus, why I tagged it with NSFW and put that sentence into the description. I believe people should be able to OPT into what they see.

I've only ever made two NSFW posts since July. The first was when I found this video. The second was today when I found out it had been censored from youtube, and realized vimeo videos can actually be embedded here on steemit, which I didn't know. So I posted it to talk about vimeo and to uncensor the material related to my other post. NSFW material will be pretty rare for me. I do like a good Undead game, movie, book, etc.... but a lot of the themes in the video are "not my cup of tea" either.

The scenes I like that inspired me to share it in the first place...

  1. There is this Pan lnspired demonic thing that comes through a door reaching into a hall way and the saturation is odd on the scene so the colors are very dull... almost going for that black and white look... and where his hand and feet touch the walls floors, etc a cool vibrant red blood effect happens... kind of like some movies that use that same technique. I thought that brief scene was well done...

The second one a blond girl wearing clothes (they often don't have clothes in the video) moves to the front of the scene and faces towards the camera... this is a different local, and the demon thing is not present...
her face goes pale and black veiny line effects hit her face and the white no pupil contact lense effect kicks in and the fade was done very professionally.

I remember when I saw those two things thinking "wow, this has high production value, is artistic, and has really good cinematography"...

Yet it is VERY DARK as it has a lot of violence and occult crap going on related to some possessed Nun.

Pretty weird as the back drop for a guitar instrumental video.

There are some scenes of the guitarist Stephan Forte tearing it up too and he puts some interesting movement and his pale makeup is clearly done to give him an undead like theme as well.

It is actually a very WEIRD, very DARK, very artistic, and very well made video...

EDIT: The censored video is in THIS POST... if you want to just hear the music. I stumbled upon that video when I was making this post, but I didn't include that version in this post.
I think a lot of it was done purely for shock value... Neo-Classical + Djent + Shock Rock.
