Interessante Fakten, für die ich leider keine Zeit habe:

Weizenkeim-Agglutinine…

sollen so verdammt ungesund sein, meint ein Facebook-Freund. Sie „überwinden die Blut-Hirn-Schranke und binden dort an dieselben Rezeptoren wie Heroin!!!" Darum ist Weizen des Teufels und bäääh.
Pooglet* man das, findet man dazu keine wissenschaftliche Belege. Abgesehen davon wär’s höchst unlogisch, wenn Agglutinine es als Proteine überhaupt vom Darm ins Blut schaffen würden (was irgendwie eine Grundvorraussetzung dafür ist, es ins Hirn zu schaffen), da sie dafür viel zu groß sind und außerdem durch die Verdauung ja zerlegt werden.
Ich könnt meinem Kumpel jetzt einen ganzen Post über den Blödsinn schreiben,…

…aber dafür hab ich wirklich keine Zeit!

Forscher von der Universität Cambridge haben herausgefunden, dass Leute, die große Teller und Schüsseln benützen, auch größere Portionen essen.^ref

Unglaublich diese Wissenschaft. Da könnt‘ ich stundenlang staunen. Aber dafür hab ich wirklich keine Zeit!

Denn schließlich ist WM.

Und beinahe hätte es die Deutschen erwischt. Leider. Also leider nur beinahe. Ist euch auch aufgefallen, dass Titelverteidiger bei Weltmeisterschaften traditionell schlecht abschneiden?
Frankreich 2002: Aus in der Vorrunde mit nur einem Punkt
Brasilien 2006: immerhin Viertelfinale
Italien 2010: Aus in der Vorrunde
Spanien 2014: Aus in der Vorrunde
Deutschland 2018: Aus in der Vorrunde, hätte Schweden nicht in Minute 95 einen völlig unnötigen Freistoß verschenkt.

Ich glaub ja, dass es am mangelnden „Hunger“ liegt, dass die Mannschaften psychologisch einfach nicht mehr den Biss haben, wenn sie den Titel schon mal erreicht haben. Ich würde da gern suchen, ob es zu so einem Effekt wissenschaftliche Literatur gibt, aber dafür hab ich wirklich keine Zeit!

Weil politisch muss man ja auch am Ball bleiben.

Und in Österreich, da geht’s politisch rund, frage nicht. Denn was könnte im 21. Jahrhundert wichtiger zur Erhöhung der inneren Sicherheit sein als die Gründung einer berittenen Polizei?
Kein Scherz. Unser neuer Innenminister will im Namen der Republik Österreich 12 Pferde für die Schaffung einer solchen Einheit kaufen. Beworben haben sich 4, und davon war eines zu klein.^ref

Hat vielleicht jemand einen Pferdehof daheim und kann dem armen Mann aushelfen? Zahlen tut er sicher nicht schlecht, für das Projekt wird in den Medien ein Budget von einer knappen Million kolportiert.^ref
Ich könnte mich einen Post lang abwechselnd schieflachen und aufregen, aber dafür hab ich wirklich keine Zeit!

Und was das betrifft, drücke ich mich seit Tagen erfolgreich davor, die zig Praktikumsprotokolle zu korrigieren, die auf meinem Tisch liegen. Ich hasse diese Art von stupider Arbeit. Vor allem wenn Studenten brav zuhören und nicken, während ich erkläre, dass ich eine kurze, stichwortartige Abhandlung will und dann 13 A4 Seiten mit Geschwafel abgeben. Weil das zu lesen, dafür habe ich wirklich absolut keine Zeit.

English: Facts I don’t have time for

Wheat germ agglutinins...

…are supposed to be so damn unhealthy, says a Facebook friend. They "overcome the blood-brain barrier and bind to the same receptors as heroin!!!" That's why wheat is a poison straight from hell.
If you poogle* this, there is no scientific proof traceable. Apart from that, it would be highly illogical if agglutinin, a protein, could even make it from the intestines into the blood (which is a prerequisite for getting into the brain), since proteins are far too large for this and are also broken down by digestion.
Now I could write a whole post about this nonsense...

...but I really don't have time for this!

Researchers from Cambridge University have found that people who use large plates and bowls also eat larger portions.^ref

Unbelievable, this high end science. And definatly worth a sarcastic post. But I really don't have time for this!

Have you also noticed that defending champions traditionally have problems at World Championships?
France 2002: Out in the preliminary round with only one point
Brazil 2006: quarter-finals after all, but much worse than expected
Italy 2010: Out in the preliminary round
Spain 2014: Out in the preliminary round
Germany 2018: Out in the preliminary round, Sweden would not have given away a completely unnecessary free-kick in minute 95.

I think it's because of the lack of "hunger" that the teams simply no longer have the psychological stance to win the title. I'd like to have a look if there's any scientific literature on this effect, but I really don't have time for this!

Because there’s also politics.

And here in Austria, politics are incredibly serious. After all, what could be more important for increasing the internal security of a modern 21st century state than the establishment of a mounted police force?
No joke. Our new minister of the interior wants to buy 12 horses on behalf of the Republic of Austria to create such a unit. Four horses applied, but one of them was too small.^ref

Does anyone have a horse farm at home and can help out the poor man? He certainly doesn't pay too little, the media are circulating a budget of almost a million € for the project.^ref
I could laugh and rage for a whole post, but I really don't have time for this!

Cuz I also have to work.

And as far as this is concerned, I have been successfully avoiding correcting the many practical lab course protocols on my desk for days. I hate this kind of stupid work. Especially when students listen and nod while I explain that I want a short, keyword-like essay and then hand in 13 A4 pages of gibberish. Because I really don't have time for this!
