Utruleg artig reklamestunt av Musk'en! Men NASA har jo tidlegare sendt opp og testa ein spinner på den internasjonale romstasjonen. Og spinners må vere noko av det aller mest unyttige som er laga i menneskets tid. I forhold til dette er jo Roadster'en ypperleg å sende ut :)

Rocket Lab réussit le lancement de sa fusée imprimée en 3D
The Californian startup Rocket Lab launched its Electron rocket a few days ago, some of which have been printed in 3D, from its private launch base in New Zealand. The rocket went into orbit last Sunday, placing three small satellites for Planet and Spire Global companies.
In some respects, the launch of three satellites in orbit is not an extraordinary fact, it is not the first and the last time this will happen. But for Rocket Lab, a private American company, this launch has a special connotation because it is the first time that a company launches several satellites from its private launch pad.
It just may be theese private company's that expand space travel! 3d printed rockets are new to me,what will they think of next?
Rocket Lab dreams of being able to ensure weekly launches of small satellites to be positioned in low orbit, an already buoyant and rapidly expanding market in the coming years by proposing an average mission price of around $ 5 million, much less than the tens or hundreds of millions of dollars currently needed.

Exiting times to be around, a price drop in that scale will encourage a lot of people who previously couldn't afford to do business in space.

I was really surprised when I saw this news, at first I thought this was really cool to put the car in space but then I put on my conspiracy hat and started wondering what the heck they are up to.
I have a strange suspicion that we will be hearing more about this in the future.Why not send a charging staition?

In Norwegian mainstream news it's already experts claiming that the car wont survive more that a year because of the radiation...

All that seems impossible now becomes a reality, with science, so sending a charging station for cars will be child's play for future generations, and I hope we are fast so that we can also attend these events.

Ja, jeg synes nobelprisen i kjemi er på sin plass!
Er det faktisk noen som tror på dette? Dette er ren hollywood magi!
Dette er mest sansynlig filmet i et basseng, det er ingen andre forklaringer på hvorfor det er så mange bobbler som stige opp fra bilen og kommer inn i bildet rundt bilen.
Og stopper du filmen og måler jordens omkrets så er den 100% sirkel, men jorda er da ikke 100% sirkel formet, den ska jo være større ved ekvator og faktisk så skal den være større under ekvator enn over.
Folkens! ikke tro på alt dere ser og bare halvparten av alt det dere hører!

Spennende tanke, ser det er mange som er rakst ute med å lage sine egne alternative forklaringer rundt om på nettet. En annen forklaring på det du kaller bobler er at det er aliens...
Elon Musk's team kaller det isrester fra rakettene.
Så kan alle velge sin egen virkelighet... ;)

hvis du ser etter så snurrer boblene og endrer form akkurat sånn som vanlige bobler i vann gjør når de stiger opp til overflaten, men det er da ikke så merkelig, det er jo luftbobler i vann vi ser :)
hadde det vert is elle space junk eller noe annet så hadde objektene hatt samme retning som bilen, mens boblene vi ser faktisk går opp til overflaten (kameraet kan være vridd litt for at det ikke skal være så lett å se at det faktisk er bobler som stiger til overflaten, så boblene kan faktisk gå til venstre elle høyre eller hvilken som helst retning, kommer an på hvordan kameraet er snudd)
men folk må for all del tro hva de nå enn vil, what ever makes your boat float.
men det er synd at folk ikke klarer å se at det de driver med er bare tull å fanteri

Jeg har ikke sett så mye på akkurat denne oppskytningen, men jeg har sett mange ganger før at de filmer "spacewalks" og sånnt i et basseng for senere å publisere det som om det var i verdensrommet.
Spacebubbles har blitt observert hos de fleste romfarts aktørene som NASA, ESA, RosCosmos, Jaxa, CNSA og ISRO.
Jeg lukter et samarbeid mellom @onebitnews, Den Norske Turforening (DNT), Freia og Nasa her.
Kanskje de som finner turbillett i Kvikk-Lunsj pakningen blir skutt direkte opp i rommet? :)

Musk shows how to do it. Both in cars, solar power and spaceship. He is thinking outside the box and dares to dream big:-) Not all his projects are big hits, but he leads the way for others to follow and go further.
It is great for the space industry in Florida,It lost tons of government funding for NASA years ago!

To my knowledge NASA is going to focus on the science side of space rather than the logistic side, which makes sense really. And there is a whole armada of private entrepreneurs on the doorstep planning to take care of the commercial dimension of space.

Oh, yes I did not know that they did. But this will probably get a lot more funding in the future and a possibility for need of more workers. A win win situation in my opinion

I would not call it useless. If an alien intercepts it and thinks that Starman is the only thing earth has, we might be saved.
Our first line of defense is a red sportscar floating around in space. Lol, stupid aliens then... ;)
