The Kaepernick ad campaign and subsequent Nike "fallout".

in #nike6 years ago

Some of the less market literate Trump supporters have been spending the day crowing about the $2.60, or 3.16% decline in Nike stock today.

Nike has gained 30 bucks in the last year. They gained 10 fucking dollars in one day, after the last earnings announcement. Way over on the right there, the last little bar downward, is today. Look at this entire chart. Does it look like the today is a big problem? The price has retraced to where it was THREE FUCKING WEEKS AGO, and I will bet anyone taking bets that it will regain that lost ground in less time than that. 3.16% is not even a blip. For all we know, it could have gone down two and a half bucks without the stupid, whining Trumpflakes savaging their own drawers or whatever the hell they're doing.

Please, Trumpies, keep this up. Although you will never match last year's "Kill Your Coffeemaker if You Support Paedophilia" campaign, watching your war on your own consumer goods is never anything but entertaining. But don't believe you're ever actually affecting any of these companies beyond giving some of the employees a good laugh.

Sort:

Almost religious fervour displayed by many Trump supporters is something that should be analyzed in depth really. What else is here to say? :D

beyond giving some of the employees a good laugh

That's something...

Keapernick not standing during the national anthem became such a huge deal a couple of years ago. He was exercising his right to free speech but people people don't like those who stand up and oppose police brutality or military genocide.

I have to admit, using kaepernick now for a shoe ad is a strange decision. He hasn't played football in nearly two years. I believe his failure in the NFL had more to do with his inability to make quick reads in the pocket than his national anthem protest. He still should been good enough to be a backup somewhere. Some believe he wasn't happy to take a pay cut.
