Abstract, senseless and even a waste of resources? You are very entitled to your own opinion. However, opinions do not make your POV the bible of everything. Now that is a fact. Subjective perspective is very crucial in all walks of life. However, it starts to deal damage when subjective perspective is pushed down the throats to indoctrinate a clean slate.
When a lie is told often enough it usually is perceived as the truth. However, going overvoard and the need to add layers to the original lie eventaully becomes overbearing resulting in the crash of the glass house. It is always easier to round up sheeps than to round up wild tigers. The difference between them both is their likelihood to confront and what their nature brings out most from them. There are tame and wild ones within us, most wild ones will see through the bullshit whereas most tame ones will succumb and swallow anything put in front of them with ease.
I think steem is in a beautiful position. Things are looking bright and way more promising than at first thought. However, I believe that many users do not realize that steem is an investment and when there is money there is politics. Even if there is a lot being done for the community, in the end it will always be treated as a cash cow and how every other investment is treated - and nothing is off bounds.
In this race there are multiple other smaller races and multiple strategies. Groupings, too. But isn't that to be expected? There are people who have put in a lot of money and of course it is natural. Every investor wants the best returns and will make sure to guard their investment and maneuver the medium that feeds them best. In the middle, though, the other "community members" have a fistful of dust thrown in their eyes. When they complain it is told to them that the dust is glitter.
This manipulation and wearing a sheep's mask over the wolf's face is what I hate. Maybe many see through the bullshit and never talk about it. Maybe many are victims of the stupid politics that goes around but no one talks about it. It's like the government. You know what's going on and who's running who and what's serving whom but you play your part and build a ferris wheel for the little foot soldiers to shut their mouth and live in a fantasy joyful world.
The hf turned out to be a massive PR move for many to raise in ranks and even super convenient way for some to push their product with ease. The fake glory of organic curation stops at the footstep of the games that were once played in the dark. Who gets more curation rewards and who pays out more to their delegators. Great content rewarding is a front for the dirty business that is now under the safety of protected memos and/or circle jirks. But once in a while some real work is done to avoid suspicion. self votes are absolutely okay whenever convenient with an excuse. Flag trails are another massive pr stunt and free flags are also used as a lure for some sympathy points. Reminds me of the westernisation of the late 80s where competition was destroyed using a simple bill paid by the monopoly to solidify the monopoly.
Meh. I've got glitter in my eyes. You suck. Yes, that's a funnel up my behind to shove propoganda and pr stunts up in there. At least I get glitter in my eyes in return. No it's not dust. Fuck you.
