Charles Manson at death's door?

Reports are coming in that Charles Manson is dying. The notorious cult leader is 83 and has been incarcerated since 1969 for ordering the killings of Sharon Tate, Abigail Folger, Jay Sebring, , Wojciech Frykowski, Steven Parent one night and then Leno and Rosemary LaBianca the next. A crazy trial ensued and Manson and his followers were locked up.

These killings were described as the end of the 60's and the death of the hippies. Is Charlie Manson finally going to kick the bucket after 50 some odd years in prison? Manson has given several interviews over the years (Geraldo Tom Snyder) and has remained in the public consciousness since the killings. He even has followers to this day. He was spared the death penalty when California abolished it, and has been in protective custody ever since. His incarceration has been expensive, the argument a death penalty trial and appeals are more expensive can't be applied here. Manson has cost taxpayers millions.
