I'm affraid @aggroed that you are holding desperately to a wrong assumption that Trump is doing all against the Deep State. It's vice versa — Deep State is doing everything against Trump, and they have just destroyed all his credibility. It isn't Trump that decides on policy. They have been driving him wherever they wanted, they replaced complete team who run his presidential campaign and brought the worst warmongers you can imagine.
