in #news8 years ago (edited)

An unofficial and illegal police strike in Brazil has resulted in mayhem with 52 murders within three days. This represents a 650% increase in the murder rate.

This all happened in the Brazilian state of Espirito Santo. It all started with family members of police officers that protested in front of 11 police battalions in over 30 cities within the state on Friday. Women and children are among family members that are demanding an increase in pay and better working conditions. The police themselves are prohibited by the Constitution from striking.

The states court of justice confirmed the protests were illegal on Monday. Yet only a few policeman complied with the new ruling and went back to work. It seems they agree with their family members.

There have been dozens of murders, looting and arson which led to Brazilian President Michel Temer deploying 200 National Force troops on Monday.

Authorities have shut down malls, municipal parks, and all public health facilities as well as suspended school services.

Banks are also closing which makes paying bills a problem. This police strike has resulted in a lot of chaos and mayhem in daily lives. Buses have been se ton fire and many drivers have preffered to not even drive.

Last month Brazil sent federal troops to put down prison riots that resulted in over 140 deaths in several states. The 200 troops for Espirito Santo arrived today. Much of Brazil is dealing with economic issues, having issues paying for federal salaries of police, teachers and doctors, along with schools and hospital supplies.

This shows how people justify the presence of government. Things like this keep people in the worldview that they need police and government to protect them from bad people. See what happens? No one takes up self-dense and setting things right themselves. No personal responsibility. All abdication of responsibility to another group to set things right in our society. If people want to get get out of tyranny of the state, they need to become more self-sufficient and not rely on the state. Yet this solution is not recognized by most.

Even worse than that, is the likely false correlation between "police" and "murder rate".

As if this issue was tied directly to police. No one just thinks "I plan to murder someone, but only after the police go on strike".

There are obviously huger issues going on, issues that caused the murder rate to spike, and although it might have to to with police, it doesn't mean it's just because they went on strike. People just don't start murdering each other, just because of a lack of police.

Did everyone just start to? No.... LOL. Some people did take advantage of the vacuum of consequences from a force that would seek to bring them to justice... so murder went up... Did I say it went uponly because of the police going on strike? But it did because they went on strike, along with the factors in life that lead people to crimes... the police only act as the barrier to make people think before they do something because they know the police is there to try to catch them. when the police are not there, then that part of the consequence is lessened.

The only solution for power is to create all kinds of "Walls" to fill the gap of the growing Inequality they created and totally control.
Besides the physical walls, they are creating a Human Wall of Police-like-Army armed with conventional war guns to kill the unarmed constituents that actually pay taxes for suppressing their fight for freedom by fear, persecution, intimidation and terror.
Brazil is a country where you can really see what the is a scandalous Gap between rich and poor and the wall of military-police forces they have
