RE: Brazilian Police Strike Sees Murder Rate Increase 650%

in #news8 years ago (edited)

This shows how people justify the presence of government. Things like this keep people in the worldview that they need police and government to protect them from bad people. See what happens? No one takes up self-dense and setting things right themselves. No personal responsibility. All abdication of responsibility to another group to set things right in our society. If people want to get get out of tyranny of the state, they need to become more self-sufficient and not rely on the state. Yet this solution is not recognized by most.

Even worse than that, is the likely false correlation between "police" and "murder rate".

As if this issue was tied directly to police. No one just thinks "I plan to murder someone, but only after the police go on strike".

There are obviously huger issues going on, issues that caused the murder rate to spike, and although it might have to to with police, it doesn't mean it's just because they went on strike. People just don't start murdering each other, just because of a lack of police.

Did everyone just start to? No.... LOL. Some people did take advantage of the vacuum of consequences from a force that would seek to bring them to justice... so murder went up... Did I say it went uponly because of the police going on strike? But it did because they went on strike, along with the factors in life that lead people to crimes... the police only act as the barrier to make people think before they do something because they know the police is there to try to catch them. when the police are not there, then that part of the consequence is lessened.
