Why the Philippine's Daily Inquirer hates the DU30 government by Drei Toledo

In 1982, Sunvar Realty was leased Creekside/Mile Long, a 2.39 hectares government property in Makati Business District.
The leased expired in 2002, and so President Rodrigo Duterte is demanding the return of the property. However, the owners, the Rufino and Prieto families, refuse to comply. They say the lease has 25 years more to run.
The Rufino/Prieto clan also owns the Philippine Daily Inquirer. That explains why the newspaper is mounting a demolition campaign against DU30 and the people close to him. The ultimate purpose is to bring down the government.
Imelda Marcos leased the property to Inquirer/Sunvar Realty for P320 per sq. meter per month. Once they got hold of the land, they subleased it to business establishments for P50,000 per sq. meter per month.
The Inquirer/Sunvar Realty owners could face plunder, a case for which there is no bail.
Selling Philippine Daily Inquirer to Ramon Ang does not absolve the Prietos of their crimes against the Filipino people and the Philippine government.

I did hear about Inquirer being sold off but not about their anti Duterte stance due to financial/legal argument over land entitlement. Which dorm is this @dreamiely?

That's of the reasons many are staying away from mainstream media news. They know most of those are owned by oligarchs who stand to lose a lot of their holdings should Duterte succeed with his plans.
But before President Duterte, we were blind. At least the majority now aren't. This we need to tell the world.

Pres Duterte is an anti oligarch leader and he is just proving it to the people for the welfare of the masses.
yeah...still these "oligarchs" are very powerful. They still have control and the President sometimes has to give in to their requests as not to sacrifice further the poor especially those who relied heavily on employment to survive.
It will be an uphill to beat them but slowly but surely, we can hope.

Oh that! i think that in the Philippines, there will still be paperworks from way back. Mostly the issue is, previous administrations let them get away with it. The present admin is not letting them now.
