"Asked And Answered" - Best Newbie Question Of The Month (February 2018)
Every month I pick out a great question a newbie asks so that I can answer it and share the responses with my followers. Sometimes we forget we grow quick here, and what we take for granted as easy is in fact very hard for others.
I see too many times people (including me) say "just go back through my blog and I have answers for you". The problem is, how many people are going to sift through 30 days of blog posts just to hopefully find answers to questions that all of us have had at one time or another?

Hi there :) I got a question.. How does the newbieresteem day work? And the top ten things? I'm sorry I'm just quite confused because its the first time ive read about it 😅 are there any other posts related this? I would love to read it :D

First - Helping To Support Newbies
Its a great question. There is a lot of posts about us that have information, but none that summarize exactly what we do because it is an evolving situation. We started less than 40 days ago and now have morphed into quite a few areas of support.
The whole concept behind #newbieresteemday is that we are a group of people that support the idea of helping the newbies to get through their first 30 days. We have all spent time and effort trying to learn and getting somewhat dejected when our posts got 0.03 and 1 upvote. We want to help those that experience this by educating, motivating, and generally paying attention to them.
Resteems - Just The Beginning
So we are each finding ways to help those newbies to get past the hurdle and understand better how this platform works. We started with just one simple tool and that was our "resteems" since we all had no other power but our ability to spread the message through resteems. We have since had modifications of that concept from our members to include #minnowmondays #minnowfridays #saturdaynitespotlight, as well as of course the original resteemer posts that still appear. We also have one "tag-lifter" that just resteems from our feed. :)
Games - Improve Participation And Encgagement
In addition, we have set up a games account @newbiegames that is launching tonight and will bring our gamemakers under one roof so that the newbies can learn how to interact and earn while having fun. The games platform has really taken off and will improve daily as we get more participation.
Curation Trail - Deliver A Bonus To The Top 10 Newbie Posts Of The Day!
We also have recently launched a @newbieresteemday curation account that has people tailing our votes, so that the "top 10 newbies of each day" get recognized with a decent upvote (currently $0.31). This is because of the trail from people wanting to help the newbies get started and its a way for larger steemians to show their support for newbies too! (thanks @coolguy123) ;)
Dear Dawne
We also have a weekly program called Dear Dawne, where a level 60 professional steemit mentor @goldendawne answers questions and helps newbies and minnows alike with ways to improve their posts, make new connections, or simply anything they would like to know. This is one of our most popular programs as many newbies simply want advice on "how do I" type questions.
Future
In the future we plan on pairing up newbies and mentors so that we can increase the "one on one" aspect and really make a difference directly by pairing 3 to 5 newbies with a member. Also we plan on launching a "member benefits program" that will also be our way of saying "thank you" to the people that are making this effort possible.

@kenneth1 I completely understand.. That is exactly what we are trying to do at #newbieresteemday is try to help you understand how this works, set the right expectations, and improve every day! We have all been exactly where you are, so don't worry you are not alone.
The first thing I would recommend is that you start to engage more. We have a series of games and contests where you can earn something (we call it a newbie nickel) and you can also win the game or some prizes. It helps you to meet others too as you become part of the community.

Finally, you should be tagging all your posts with #newbieresteemday as we have many people that look through that feed looking for good posts and authors to help.. We have a "top 10 posts of the day" where if you do a great post you can be rewarded with a decent upvote (and get known too).
I suggest that you follow what we are all doing by also visiting that tag on a regular basis... there are many things that happen every day and there is lots of ways to enjoy steemit.
You will come to realize that making posts is not the best way to make it here on steemit. Yes it is a way if you have a rare talent, but otherwise the way to succeed here is to engage and make new friends and contacts.
That is the secret and we provide a platform to help you... We want you to succeed, it helps all of us because I know you will be a member helping others once you figure it out ;)

I did visit your wall and your post were good in that they told me about you. I think you are very cool and have a great attitude and will do well over time. One thing I can see about your wall is that you need to broaden what you talk about.
People want to hear new things about you and what you are experiencing. The reason it seems like the interest is fading doesn't have anything negative to say about you, it simply reflects that you aren't telling them anything new. Your valentine's plea was good and cute and I like the flirty way you are with people. That is good. So you should be more creative and do that kinda thing too.
Also you should venture out and look at other posts. Right now you are a relative unknown here. How do you expect to get lots of people to know you if you don't venture out and engage with others? You have a nice spunky personality that can do really well, so take the time to make at least 30 good comments a day on "OTHER" people's posts... ps... don't give weak replies like : "good post i like it"... give a sincere and honest answer reflecting how you are in real life.
