At this point in time, Jonathan is just under 24 hours old here.
I checked out his Introduction post to see what he's about and it seems he represents Nelson Mandela Bay Marketing and Tourism, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
Okay. this leads me to his second post:
Save A Pet. Rescue - Rehab - Rehome
Not only did he speak about his hopes of supporting Steemit and being an ambassador to the platform in his area, he is supporting a very worthy cause with solid information about Save A Pet and their services.
His call for donations to this organization are much like any other non-profit seeking funds to serve their community.
Additionally, Jonathan makes himself available with an email and verifies his identity on Whatzapp.
Righting a wrong
Well, to put it bluntly, some jackass flagged his post.
REALLY?!?!
To what purpose does that serve except to be spiteful and mean?
Might we agree that this is the type of content that will enhance the platform, and maybe in some small way, make positive change to a portion of our world?
If a newbie is going to use Steemit, we need to come together and support one another.
While I no longer consider myself a newbie, I am still but a minnow. I went to his post, upvoted and left a supportive comment. I even went a step further and put 5 SD to promote his page...which is really just a token of good will more than anything.
If I have any influence at all, I would ask you, my treasured reader, to visit his page and say hi. Save your upvotes here and give him a rousing welcome. Let him know that there are good people here. And while you're at it, give @bitminter a shout-out for being a good guy and fellow humanitarian.

I'm not certain who did it, but they're a twat. Ahhhh.... I feel better. I wanted to include that in the post but thought it inappropriate since I'm trying to celebrate someone. LOL
lol and the flag offender certainly is, i looked at his profile earlier and he has been flagged into oblivian for plagerism and is taking it out on every post he comes across.

Thank you all for your support and kindness I am starting to feel right at home already. The power of the steemit community is truly moving and inspirational.
It really starts with finding good people and I'm really glad that someone put you on my radar or you truly may have been lost among the throng. I'm really looking forward to learning more about your beautiful country. I've actually got a few online friends from South Africa whom I've met through Twitter and Blab. With the time difference, I'm usually having a beer with them at 4 AM. LOL
