Ned is powering down ... What does it mean?

in #ned8 years ago

Many people are in panic after they saw @ned powering down 1.8 million steem. If that much steem is sold in the market now, the price will tank hard.

But would ned dump steem at a low price like this? I really doubt it. @ned probably knows insider information we don't know. smts might be coming soon which will without any doubt increase the price of steem to at least 2.5 dollars at a minimum (that's what I believe).

My own understanding of the situation is that ned is powering down because some big news will be announced soon and then the price will go up. Then ned will be able to sell his liquid steem at a high price. FYI, ned sold steem at 6 dollars or above in january pump (dumping it on idiots who thought it would go much higher). And he sent the steem to another wallet before selling. Really, I wonder why he needed to sent the steem to @firefire (https://steemit.com/@firefire/transfers) before sending them to bittrex.

Whatever happened in the past doesn't matter. What matters is that ned is powering down and it is tanking the price. We could see a sky high price of steem soon if my assumption is true. Or else, steem could tank really hard if ned sold at current market state.

I suspected that you may be sneak.
Now I guess that you are not.

I remember that you used to care about spam/abuse.

It is a spam bot that opportunistically buys votes on preexisting spam that it posted for this purpose alone (and to attract people whom try to make curation rewards)

Will you do something against it?
I reported it already to:
abusereports (bernie), adm, gtg , pfunk, sneak, spamminator (twice), themarkeymark, timcliff

adm did a pretentious token gesture of slight downvotes that was meant to leave it profitable.
themarkymark reported to steemcleaners and eliminated rewards from a few of its posts.
only clvr (paid by smartsteem) took it as a mission, but it is oblivious of the other accounts this spammer has.
It only flags lucky-robin, so this spammer switched back to one of its older accounts, abandi.

No, I'm sneak. I'm also not little. :D

Seems like some kind of anticipatory move... everybody is talking about Ned powering down... but follow the trail; as soon as the power down started, he made a lateral "test" transfer to a brand new account... and then that account transferred 1 Steem to another brand new account. And now he's funded one of those accounts additionally.

That suggests to me the powerdown isn't an exit, but "positioning" for something that's ahead.

Of course, that's just pure speculation....

Now he has sent 1 million STEEM to that account

No, it's only 1,000 Steem, not a million.

I hope your prediction is right, because this scenario is certainly a lot better for the future of Steem compared to some of the other speculation.

I am not sure what to think about it. Maybe he is powering down because he lost his faith to the steemit?

So, someone that powerful, a whale is powering down. What should planktons do?

Save some steem a little... Maybe. I don't know.

Highly unlikely.

So, someone that powerful, a whahel is powering down. What should planktons do?

I will wait and see what happens.

@littleboy @reddragonfly I noticed that the other. My first thought was whether he's planning to take advantage of arbitrage given the price drop of SBD.

Count that power down takes 13 weeks. We could see price top in late summer.

Now a transfer of 1 million STEEM to brixtongg

It's 1000, I think.

Yes, you're right; it's 1,000 Steem, not a million that were transferred.

More recently, transferred 110,000 Steem to @brixtongg. 2 hours ago

Thanks for the update. Wonder what's the endgame here.

That's a little bit more concerning honestly.

Recent activity from brixtongg:

What are these accounts brixtongg is sending money to (deepcrypto8 and huobi-pro)? Each transfer with a number? Neither account has ever posted anything.

huobi-pro:

Ned has nothing interesting in his recent transfers.

Ouch, that's not looking too good :/

I hope your predictions come true sir
But I just can't help but wonder how the activities of just one man incites all this panic or maybe I'm just totally lost in the dark

Because he's so deep in the know compared to the rest of us. So people are wondering why someone with that much inside knowledge is taking this move.
