Shark Bait
I snapped a quick image of my favorite beach. see the image below? the chart? I am about where the large 7, tiny 14 is. Right among all the shark fins, near the purple icon for Lighthouse beam. I am out on a sand bar, looking back towards the beach. behind me, about 100 yards are a hundred or so seals getting some sun. To my left, the water drops off, and our friendly seal-nibblers are awaitin'!!!
Sure, most of you people call them sharks, but seal-nibblers sounds so much less mean. The locals are fine with sharks. The fishermen, too. It's the tourists who are getting themselves all tense. It turns out, sharks are some 300 million years old, and will be here long after we humans screw up and exit, stage left.
Always, I strive to give back
To the animals and birds around me
to put more plants in than I take out
And be a good steward for the world around me!

the white dot in the center is a radar dome, for monitoring air traffic on the east coast.
It's an Air Force Station, and is also helpful when Sharknado's strike.

I grew up around here, and can tell you, there have always been sharks in these waters. It's mostly people panicking about something that rally won't affect them, if they are smart.
The two recent attacks on people near here were people swimming with seals because "they looked cute"
