HOW TO REDUCE THE WORLD'S ENERGY NEEDS BY 2050 WITH ALTERNATIVE POLLUTANT

Hello Today i want to highlight 5 types of renewable energy that can reduce one-third of  the worlds energy needs by 2050 if individuals and corporations work together to save energy now and begin depending on renewable energy sources delivered by power companies and personalized adoption. 

Renewable energy gives us the advantage to tap into natural resources that are replenished as part of the normal life cycle of the earth. Cut a tree down for burning heat, and that tree is forever gone. We can also tap into the wind with a turbine to generate electricity, while the wind continues to blow. The Union of Concerned Scientists recommend the following clean renewable energy sources bellow: 

Power Wind

The United States currently can produce more than ten times its energy needs through wind power, one of the fastest-growing and abundant energy sources available. These turbines use wind to generate huge amount of electricity without leaving a trial of pollutants. By now, this is one of the most minimum cost effective alternative fuel sources available. The only obstacles to this alternative resource popularity include:·        

Negative opposition to the towers that usually appear on the landscape·         

Major concerns about the long-term side-effects the towers and turbines will have on the habitat 

 Biomass 

This process is a combination of plant matter and animal waste to produce or generate electricity. How ever when conversion is done properly, it becomes a very low-carbon source of energy with very little pollution to the environment. Some of the major challenges faced with this renewable resource also includes:·         

1. This technology has not yet advance as quick as wind and solar, so it remains expensive for now·  

2. If this is not managed correctly, it can impact negatively on the environment. 

 Solar Power

 

The sun will always be a source of energy for billions and billions of years to come. Today technology to capture and collect this energy includes photovoltaic panels, solar collectors and very thin-film solar sheeting. These solar cells can turn sunlight into electricity directly, so we don't need a generator again. This alternative is a clean and non-polluting source of renewable energy. 

Some of the major challenges that this renewable energy source faces include:        

1. The cost of the solar panels is currently still high when compared to other forms of energy i listed·         

2. The amount of energy generated by these cells is a product of insolation, in terms of how much sun reaches these cells·         

2. The storage cell (battery) technology needs to be upgraded to hold electricity supply to cover days of little to no sunshine but we will get there soon.

 Geothermal Energy 

This process is the utilization of heated water and steam from the planet interior to keep power stations running, which will convert the steam power into electricity. California currently has more than 40 geothermal power stations generating 5 percent of that state’s energy needs. With countries like the Philippines, Iceland and El Salvador all generating more than 25 percent of their electricity needs with geothermal plants.                    Some of the major challenges been faced with this energy alternative are:·                

1.The location of these plants is currently limited to only the most geothermally active areas 

2.Plants are very expensive to build these days·

Hydroelectric Power

This process uses flowing water to move its turbines which then generate clean electricity. Hydropower currently supplies 20 percent of the world’s alternative energy needs, in accordance to the United States Geological Research Survey.

1. There are several major opposition regarding the continued use of hydropower:·         

2. Because rivers must be dammed, which in return can create severe impacts on the land and wildlife·        

3. This impact would also affects a lot of communities that rely on fish that travel through these dams·         

4. It cost a lot to build these dams, and the return is slow and long term

5.There are several motivations for learning about these options and how you may be able to use them in your home energy plan, including:·        

6. They protect our environment from further damage from climate change·         

7. They use resources that will ever run out·         

8. There are government incentives for implementing renewable energy sources, as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy
