Bees Collecting Pollen on a Texas Sage Shrub - The locals say this...
The local lore is that when the Texas Sage is blooming there is rain coming. I'm not so sure I believe that, but it is very cool to see the bees collecting pollen. Take a close look at the legs packed full of white pollen! I like to believe that these bees are from my hives.

Are you a beekeeper? How is this season going for you? We have had so much high heat in July and August with little rain that it's hard to believe that the bees are hanging on, but three of my hives are doing really well right now. Hopefully the Fall flow is good and sets them up nicely for the Winter.

Poor little guys, struggeling against the hot and the dry. I keep our two bird baths full of water, as well as the hummingbird feeders. It's amazing how many bees come to both. Great Jo.
I've seen orange and yellow pollen but this is the first time seeing white pollen I wonder who scared the color out of it ? :D thanks for sharing

Happy bees! Sharing for folks to enjoy as well!
I love to watch nature and thankfully I have a good chunk of land to do it on. As always, I enjoy your posts and look forward to your updates.
Lovely post.
Not a beekeeper, but try and attract bees with the flowers I have on my patio.
The lavender seems to be their favourite.
Following in the hope of picking up some good tips in your future blogs.
Enjoyed your post. Have tried the beekeeping. We had the opposite problem. Too much rain. Swarmed to higher ground. We are learning. Hope you have a great batch of honey. 🐓🐓
