My Early Childhood

Childhood refers to the early stage of time during which one is a child, it is the period between infancy and puberty. My early childhood was difficult due to the family i was born into, i grew up in an average African home and it was not easy for me as a child. i grew up in a family of five (5) and i was the first born. My father was a carpenter and my mother a teacher; they also ran a farm together.

My childhood was very rough and unpleasant because suffering seemed to be a part of growing up in such a home as mine, going to school was an issue then because of money. Eating was also difficult in my home, most times before money would enter my parents' hand the debt they would have incurred would be bigger than the money they were to receive. However, growing up at some point in life was fun due to the environment and community i found myself, my parents tried their best to make sure i and my sibling go to school and acquire education. Childhood is the period which has often been praised by poets and writers. As one grows in age, he or she feels great attachment and attraction for the days spent in childhood. Everyone deep inside their hearts wants to be children again but the fact remains; those days cannot come back however hard we try. The most important thing which makes childhood memorable is love and care of the family and family members. A child has the purest heart any human being can possess and all that heart desires is love; no matter what the circumstances are. Any person who claims that he or she had an amazing childhood has witnessed sufficient amount of love, care and affection from their family members.

The memories of childhood have their own place in any individual’s heart. As one grows up, one feels more and more attached with his childhood, the best period in an individual’s life. Having no anxieties, worries or work, a child is free from the dirty and filthy noise of the worldly life. When individuals recollect the memories of childhood, they feel delighted as it is the most pleasant period which is free from any kind of worry or anxiety. The memories of childhood haunts an individual throughout his or her life and they wish that those childhood days full of pleasure come back despite knowing that childhood is a thing of past. Time is always passing fast and it is impossible for anyone to enjoy the days which will never come back. Children are actually God’s gift to planet earth and it is also said that if one keeps a child happy, they are keeping the almighty happy. Childhood is in fact God’s best gift to any individual and we all are aware of the fact that money can buy anything but even all the money in the world is in-sufficient to bring back the past in anyone’s life. Childhood is that golden period of life which flies away without giving any notice and never comes back. But we should all be aware of an important fact about childhood. It is during childhood that a child is molded as an individual for the rest of his life. What the child will learn and see from his or her family, teachers and peers is what he or she will learn in the future. Just as a potter molds the pot according to his wish, similarly any individual is molded in his or her childhood. If the molding is good, the child will turn out to be a perfect individual who will help in the growth and advancement of the society, nation and the world at large. If on the other hand, the molding is bad the child can result in being a menace to the society. It is thus essential for the parents that they instill the values of good character, patriotism, respect for the elders, helping people in need and the like in the child from a very early age to brighten their futures. Every child must be given the opportunity to enjoy his or her childhood to the fullest by their parents. Studies are important but one should not over- burden a child with extra- curricular activities. Yes these activities are important but one should not forget the fact that these activities can be learned later also but childhood once gone never knocks our door again. When a child stays happy, the feeling of happiness will always remain intact in his or her heart even when they grow up because even the slightest memory of the beautiful phase of life removes all the tensions from someone’s life and brings smile on the lips. We should realize the fact that we are extremely lucky for having an amazing childhood. Some children are not even blessed with a beautiful childhood especially those involved in child labour.
Childhood is the most important period of an individual’s life. My first memory of Halloween is the costume I went out trick or treating with my grandmother, who lived 500 miles away. She made me a homemade costume that I wish I still had today. The costume was supposed to be a butterfly. It was purple with butterfly-like markings on the body, wings and antennas, and it engulfed my small, child-size body the second I put it on. I remember hating that costume, but today I would kill to have it. It was so unique, so one of a kind. Recalling a favorite childhood place is not an easy endeavor for a person of my temperament. Through a hazy memory instances and occurrences come fleeting through my mind like clouds floating across a colored sky.

In conclusion, I can recall happy memories, and sad ones. Both are there, only their shapes differ; clouds too offer up different shapes. My problem lies in the actual choosing of a place that I can call favorite. when I remember of me being a child and it was one of the best moment I could think of my childhood that happened in the summer, where good time start it and not too far off that it sound it like that we played in the water and we figured since it is a bit hot outside i was going to six flags and having some fun with our family and friend having an enjoyable time.

This was a nice essay @emmatex.

I do agree - having a good family environment is important to growing up. I do also believe that you can change your situation and break those familial bad habits. When you are a child, you have no say so, but when you become an adult, you can choose to be different.
