My California - The San Gorgonio Wilderness
For this weeks Show Us Your California contest by @socalsteemit I take you to one of the most visited wilderness areas in America...
The San Gorgonio Wilderness!
The San Gorgonio Wilderness is 94,702 acres of pristine sub-alpine mountain scenery right here in Southern California. It's in the eastern San Bernardino mountain range and is named for the the highest peak in the area, the 11,503' tall Mt. San Gorgonio!

I've been visiting the San Gorgonio wilderness for over twenty years now. My parents started taking me out hiking and backpacking there at a young age. Nowdays, I've hiked every marked trail in the area and a bunch of the unmarked trails and cross country routes. I've climbed almost every peak and camped all over the wilderness. I've climbed to the summit of Mt. San Gorgonio nine times now. I've climbed it more times than I've climbed any other mountain. My mom even got married to her husband on the summit!!

Always great pictures! Was once my favorite place to hike. Great photo of the Aspens, I never saw them that beautiful. I've been to 9 summits in that wilderness.
Whoa, how many kg have you carried in those backpacks and for how many camping nights? Our looks smaller and we are packed for 1 year trip :D
Usually anywhere from 10-20kg depending on the trip.

I love this my California post idea. When I get some time, and then the motivation Ill be doing mine soon. Got to showcase the Monterey County, which IMO is the heart of Cali ;)
Heck ya @jonyoudyer. We'd love you join the contest!
Also I wanted to let you know that there's a Steemit meetup group starting up in San Francisco. I just learned about them yesterday. You can read about what they're doing in this post. They seem pretty cool. I'm hoping to work together with them in the future. Anyways, when I saw that I knew I should share it with you!
always enjoy reading your posts! Also your mom is adorable and I have given her a follow, hahaha. I will have to add this place to my list of places to visit here in Socal! (also wow new banner! it moves!)
Thanks Corinne. I always enjoy your posts as well! Thanks for following @doverland, hopefully I'll talk her into posting on Steemit more. She always has lots of great content she could be posting.
