Who are your Blockchain Neighbors?

in #myblock6 years ago (edited)

With the world therefore referred to a global village with the inception of the internet, communities and neighborhoods are created and extended beyond borders. Furthermore with an insight into the trend of decentralization came the inception of the steem blockchain (ecosystem) where many content creators have been leveraging off the system with their pieces of writings.

But with the steem ecosystem hinged on relationship, comes a big question that was popped-up by @sndbox in their weekly Question and answer session,

Who are your Blockchain Neighbors?

If therefore you have a neighbor living next door, it won’t be wrong to think that you might both share the same landlord as well. Wouldn’t it be nice if you had them properly known?

It was therefore expressed by @sndbox that the witness that had your block minted (might be or is your landlord). You might also know that steem witnesses are steem-users who have a bit more information about the ecosystem than the average steem-user. With this information striking my mind for the first time, it seemed like rocket science to me when I tried to comprehend the process of finding out who my Land lord and neighbors are.

But the puzzle still remains, who is your blockchain neighbor?

Going a step further, following a few steps, an opening was birthed in the process. On my part, it was a bit tricky but with series trial I got a breakthrough andI struck gold in the process. I found out that my Block 25139615 was Witnessed by @jesta (my landlord)

  • And my neighbors on the block are:

@jhonny34, @daltono, @apolymask, @solnamu, @username333, @gilma, @jhonny34, @bunnypuncher, @hongsam, @alexlobofutbol, @anyaehrim, @spykakos, @sharpshot, @xakarisyed, @alojz, @steemit-italia and many more.

You could also try this out to give yourself an insight to what happens on steem, that many in the ecosystem might not know.

That means you have had a check already on your neighbors, which is great

That’s great @maxiemoses-eu I will try it out soon. :)

Hi @techstack buddy
Sure...... if you had it tried out you will be amazed
......by what you will find out

Hello, @maxiemoses-eu I see that you are showing something that very few of us know, but I am still doubting the usefulness of this knowledge. Maybe in a new post we'll show more about the utility.

I for one went through the process and was excited with the information, as this opened me up to stuffs that happens at the back end. I had to check up the blogs of a few and in the process got pieces of information that thrill me in the process

Nice write up, very unique conceot all though i didnt understand much

Hi @freecrypto,

I didin't understand the process as well when I saw it for the first time. But I will like to say this gives you a bit more information of what goes on in the ecosystem.

This blocks are been minted by witnesses on steem, as we comment, upvote, reply and transact. And events that happen at about the same time at minted on the the same block.

Yeah I understand a bit now

You do? thats really great, you know..

The steem user that share the same block with you are referred to as neighbors,
..........while the witness that minted the block is your Landlord.

Looking up the activities of these steem-users might birth some sort of relationship, if the pieces of their writing and activiity on steem interests you

Thanks for the explanation :)

You are welcome anytime

Wow @maxiemoses-eu, I am definitely going to try this out :)

My first neighbour is @badmusgreene.

Hi @neavvy
I am glad you found this out at the first trial,
...........I wasn't that smart with the process

Hi @maxiemoses-eu thanks for the eye opener. I would love to try it out at least for the fun and experience.

Also, I read a post a few weeks ago and it was a steemian celebrating her one year anniversary on steemit. She showed the witness that validated the creation of her account and the block number. I was very surprised how she managed to obtain that.

Maybe the procedure you have presented can also help to obtain that. I will definitely try it out.

Hi @ajongcrypto
If you had it tried out,
.......you will be amazed with what you will see...
It is to some extent, a bit exciting if you ask me.....
..and most likely I will also like to know the witness
..................who approved my entrance to steem as well.

I tried it out and also tried a lot crazy stuffs too. For a moment, I felt like a steem witness lol

hahahahahaha..........hehehehehehhe.........

For a moment, I felt like a steem witness lol

I could not stop laughing my heart out.......
Maybe I will vote for you to be one
..................just give me a sign or a signal when you are ready to be one

Hahaha still a long way to go to become a witness but I will keep it mind lol

Thank you

Hehehehehe................
You are welcome
@ajongcrypto my steem witness

@maxiemoses-eu I am using Steemdb from starting but never knew that we can get this kind of information too.

I really liked to try this as it's something new and fun. Let me find out my landlord and I will back to you with screenshot and comment.

I see you are already right ahead with that.

Very interesting @maxiemoses-eu.

Going to find out who is my neighbour right now :)

ok, so I know what is my block but Im still not sure how can I use this knowledge and what to do with it ...

Hi @crypto.piotr

Alright, i wish my response satisfies you,
...........but on my part with the information I got,
I went up to check up on the blog of my neighbors.

And I was excited with the pieces of information,
I saw in the blog of a few of them.

First off, it was an exciting experience.....
............as it gave a bit more information about what happens
every now and often at the steem back office.

Secondly, I was fascinated by the view I had
..........when I made a quick check on the blog of a few of my neighbor, some got me excited enough to follow, birthing in the process a new spectrum of relationship.

hi @maxiemoses-eu

thx for your comment. And Im sorry for such a late reply. Just had few rough days lately.

Yours, Piotr

Take your time.
Have things sorted.....
And come back strong with your best foot on the gas

Now, there is some good information. I don't know my block neighbours but I'll find out as advised. Thanks for informing @maxiemoses.
