My 2018: A Tour around my town: A Dose of Vitamin Sea in my Hometown San Fabian

in #my20186 years ago (edited)

I live in this humble coastal town of San Fabian, Pangasinan, Luzon, Philippines. We boast of our beautiful serene powdery-sand gray beaches.

It is an ideal place to jog, walk, have a picnic or even take your breakfast to the beach. Having breakfast, smelling the morning fresh sea breeze and looking at the calming plain view of the sea and sky is enough of a reason to visit our place.

A Little Secret:
If your name is nowhere near Sally Spendthrift, you can have your breakfast and stay the whole day along the beach for free. Yes, you read that right, FOR FREE. Just bring some chairs, or tables, or whatever you desire, or stay behind your car. No need to rent cottages (aw, sorry for the cottage owners, LoL!) ^_^

But before I take you in and around my town, I wanted to give a little background on where it is situated in the Philippines and a little bit of history.

Where exactly is San Fabian?

San Fabian has a latitude of 16°8'30.75"N and a longitude of 120°26'50.23"E or 16.141876 and 120.447285 respectively.

It is seated on the boundary of the Province of La Union and Pangasinan. Mainly the reason why San Fabian houses people who speak Ilocano, Pangasinan, and Tagalog.

A little bit of history of the place

The town used to be called Angio, and had been a mission territory of friars of the Dominican Order during the Spanish era.

San Fabian was founded on March 23, 1717. The town was named in honor of a crusading Pope, St. Fabian, who ruled the Roman Catholic Church for almost 13 years during the reign of the Roman Emperor Dictus.

It is a first class municipality, with 34 barangays.

What to see around San Fabian?

As mentioned, our humble town boasts of its beautiful beach.

No, it is not a surfing site. But still, the gentle waves are inviting to both the kids and kids at heart. It is very relaxing to just dip in this infinity pool, and have fun.

True, the sand is not as white as Boracay but just the same it boasts of its powdery fine gray sand. You will be greeted by one or two seashells so it won't hurt your barefooted feet.
