Great Rock Cover - part 3

in #music7 years ago

Hello Steemians,

it has been a long time since we wrote the last post about great rock cover. So here we are again: 3 great rock cover of already awesome original songs:

3. Twist and Shout - by The Beatles

The original song was composed by Bert Berns and Phil Medley in 1960 and first performed by the Top Notes in 1961. You can find this version on youtube linked here. Bert Berns had no influence on the recordings and was not amused about the outcome. Because of that he arranged a new recording with the three Isley Brothers in 1962 - way better this time (linked here). Inspired of this new version, The Beatles created their cover in 1963 - so, thank you Bert Berns for not have been satisfied with the first version!

2. Susie Q - by Creedence Clearwater Revival

The original was created and played by Dale Hawkins in 1957 which was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll". Original linked here. After the Stones created a cover in 1964, Creedence Clearwater Revival also recorded it on their debut album in 1968. It became one of their first big hits.

1. Gone Away - by Five Finger Death Punch

For the end, a new song performed by Five Finger Death Punch for their compilation album A Decade of Destruction, released in the end of 2017. Since their older cover songs (Bad Company or House of the rising sun) we know that FFDP are really talented in creating emotional and awesome metal cover. The original song was created by The Offspring in 1997 and appears on their fourth studio album Ixnay on the Hombre. The original version is already really emotional but I think FFDP took it to the next level.

What's your favourite rock cover? Let me know :)
Thank you for reading and have a nice weekend!

Keep on rocking

fuck this all/ my world will never be the same((((

I've always thought that this is a great Beatles song. well and so - as every rock fan I started with beatles. always believed that they were a group of all time and peoplesv \m/

haha don't take it too serious - actually it is a great Beatles song, no matter if they composed it or not :)

I don't love rock, I prefer reggae and that title really caught my attention. Bob Marley sang a song called two little birds. One of the greatest Rastafarian that ever lived

I also love reggae and some time ago i did some reggaeposts too, maybe I'll bring back this topic again :) but the song of Bob Marley is called three little birds - as my girl and me started this accounted together, we decided for "twolittlebirds" ;)
