This is the third and final post in my trilogy about the Beatles in the new millennium.
In 2016 the Cirque du Soleil and Apple Ltd. celebrated the 10th anniversary of their theatrical partnership by revamping the production of "Love". It's origins go back to the year 2000 when George Harrison explored the idea for a project with his friend Guy Laliberté, one of the founders of Cirque du Soleil. George was excited about the idea and took Paul McCartney to a Cirque du Soleil performance so he could imagine the possibilities for a Beatles project.

It is an extraordinary undertaking. The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas spent more than $100 million dollars on the Love theater in the round. There are just over 2000 seats around the center stage, and each seat has three speakers (thus there are over 6000 speakers just from the seats.)
Musically it is also a stunningly creative experience. Giles Martin, son of the Beatles producer George Martin, sampled 120 Beatles songs and fused them together into 27 musical segments. If you are a Beatles fan and have never heard the soundtrack, it is an amazing experience. Rather than trying to describe it in words, here are a few examples.

Although George Harrison didn't live to experience the realization of his vision, his widow was actively involved with the planning of the show, as was Yoko Ono. In this clip you can hear the two remaining Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr discussing the inception of the project.

Also I never saw a show in Vegas, actually I never been to Vegas. Would love to get that experience one day.
I'd love to see it too, but not enough to make the trip to Vegas ;-)
Hmmm, I think lots more to do in Vegas, and combining it with a trip to San Francisco and other things, like their national parks on the West side of the USA, and maybe even Burning Man, art/music festival in the dessert :)
