Global Collab Series 004 - Your Skies w/ Venza

My previous Collab Series post introduced y'all to my friendship with the amazing StayLoose, the co-founder of a collective instrumental to my artist development, Hebinomichi. I was proud to release with them through multiple amazing compilations, and became friends with a young Spanish producer, Venza.

When he said he wanted to collab with me on a really cool untitled track he sent, I jumped at the chance. After a few tweaks and rewrites, we came up with what is now "Your Skies". We were thrilled when it got picked up by Toronto-based label Swisted Selections and even more surprised to see it pop up on Martin Garrix's weekly playlist.

The lyrics are some of the most simple I've written, but sometimes simplicity is the magic. I hope they resonate with you as much as they have all the wonderful people that have reached out from across the world about this track. That, to me, is truly the magic of music. An international language potentially understood by anyone on the same emotional tip. A telegram traveling faster than lightspeed across the globe.

It's funny how we can spend hours crafting phrases we believe to be dripping with eloquence, depth and complexity - and then instead have a few sparse words hit home much harder.
