The Booger Song!
Being a homeschooling mom, I'm always on the lookout for resources. In searching DTube, I haven't seen much in the way of kids' music. I used to be an elementary classroom music teacher.
I have a few silly songs that were popular with the students then and with my kids now, so I thought I would share.
**Disclaimer! I am totally self-taught on guitar, just enough to write some music and tinker with the kids, but nowhere near where I'd like to be! Someday when the kids are grown, maybe I'll have time for lessons and some proper strum patterns!
**Also, as a homesteading and homeschooling mom of 4, this is real life. I didn't notice the baby wipes behind me until it was too late. If you've followed my posts, you'll notice that toy trucks seem to sneak into my food photography quite often too! ;-)

Oh boy!! That was just lovely! The little ones popping in and out of the picture added the perfect touch. I, too, used to teach music in public schools, long ago and far away. My head is still full of useless-but-amusing little ditties, some I learned as a child. They come in handy from time to time, but usually I wonder if I could shove them out and make room for more urgent memories, like where I put my car keys.
Ha! Yes! It's always the keys!! That's so neat that you taught music too! My mentor and former music teacher started coming to my school when I was in 2 nd grade, and it was always the highlight of my week. I attended a K-8, so he was my music teacher for 7 years. I still adore him!

I have been playing 11 years now - self-taught. I am doing a masters in music and I teach guitar for a living; as long as you are resourceful and intuitive, the sky is the limit - you clearly have the knack for arranging and singing. I wish you all of the luck that I can - keep it up.
Thank you. I was trained in voice, a little piano and 10 years of Alto sax, so I had the music theory background which is super helpful, I think. But my 11 yr old is picking up ukelele tabs with no prior music training and I'm impressed with what she's learning on her own!
That's awesome that you're studying music! What are your plans? Continue teaching? Performing? Both? I'll have to peek at your posts and see if you have any music posted. I'd love to hear some!
haha, 10 years of Alto Sax will do. Kids are fantastic sponges for music, especially when they want to do something; I hope your daughter sticks with it - she may see you as her inspiration.
I'm currently studying an MA in Composition and building a small business based around community education. I'd love to build a spectacle of a band, something I will be doing after my MA, but I should always like to be doing both (performing and teaching).

How is the homeschooling thing. Well self taught isn't a bad thing, that means you are talented. Good content.
Homeschooling varies from family to family. We take a very eclectic approach.
And thank you for the compliment. My form isn't where I'd like it to be, but I do what I can.
I love this! Kids music is something I still listen to. You have a beautiful voice. My vote is make more like this!

Are your babies making you laugh now? They're right at that age where they don't seem as fragile anymore and their personalities start to shine. Both my boys were comedians from early on. 8-9 months they were showing off to get their big sisters laughing. Such hams!
This is an old video we did for a contest. It was supposed to be a practice run and I had no idea what was going on behind me.
I haven't watched them yet, I think it will have to wait. DTube seems to have gone on the fritz again for me.
The twins make me laugh all the time but I think they are just starting to goof around a bit and try to get a reaction. So it will be interesting to see how things develop over the next few weeks.
Yep Dtube has been acting up. Sometimes i have better luck in a different browser--seems like it doesn't always agree with Chrome.
You will have to share when they start really goofing off. I'm sure the two of them will be cracking each other up before too long!
