A smile for "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
My daughter seems to really enjoy Jeff Beck. We're off to a great start.
Good Afternoon, evening or morning Steemit family
Day two of MiniElf being home. She's such a serious blessing. I am such an emotional disaster. My eyes leak with joy all day, at the drop of a hat.
Life has been ultra hectic the past few months, and that's whats kept me from accomplishing some things I had intended to, and also kept me from as much interaction as i would like here on Steemit. I make greater, and lesser effort in these posts in celebration of #minnowuprising
One of the things on my todo list was to assemble a playlist for Edi to listen to. I wanted the playlist to be purposeful, for each song to have a reason, and/or value.
I have a whole four songs in her folder.
Today we played those four songs several times to her because i had her in the bisonette (sp?) while tidying the house.
The final of the four songs was Jeff Becks somewhere over the rainbow
It got about twenty seconds in, and Edi smiled for the very first time. It may have been gas, but in my mind it was the guitar that did it!

The fact that she enjoys these songs, the chance for me to sing them to her and instill the greatness in them in her makes my heart break into a zillion disgusting little pieces. I have not shed so many tears of joy as in the past 76 hours.

My next post i intend to discuss some of the funniest things that happened while going through this experience. One of the things made me laugh aloud - you know- lol.. All night last night.

Oh please do! Most people find it hard to listen to as it was in between 1912 and 1921 (i think) that his songs were recorded. He's the original author and musician behind "nobodys fault but mine" made famous by (i would say) led zeppelin. But it's also been covered by hundreds of others. Eric Clapton goes so far to say that Willie Johnson is the best slide you will ever hear played. Think i'll write more of him at a later date!

Shani (rhymes with rainy) is my given name. Beer was my mother's family name. I might take it myself when I can face the bother of changing things like my passport. I wrote this introductory post. And what about your name?

Brock is my name, my grandmother always said the name was too short for "greatness" i think she may have been correct lol! She called me brockery my whole life as long as she was alive.. I could have easily used that as my screen name, but went with this one for no better reason.
