New music video: 'Theresa' by Cabinet of Millionaires
The other week I went out shooting around Manchester with my musician friend Cabinet Of Millionaires (CoM)
We were shooting this video to go with his new track Theresa
Tonight marks the release of the video
There is a clear message in the video we made about the real problem of homelessness. We follow the protagonist as he makes a certain puppet to try and busk a few quid from... but perhaps it's eventual uselessness is a reflection of the real thing it mimics?
CoM are a socially and politically focussed drum and bass/dance/soul outfit from the UK, with a variety of past releases that highlights the frustrations at the current leadership in the UK. CoM are active in protests and standing up for the rights of those who need help.

I can't believe how awesome this post is. You transmitted a really valuable message on the video, in a very artistic and creative way. The imagery is incredibly powerful. Loved the music, of course! I hope CoM joins us soon enough! Congrats on the Curie upvote, keep up the amazing work <3

It was all shot guerilla style in the city, so we only had a few planned shots (and the puppet of course) - but the flow really came from the actor (Clay) and the surroundings.
Indeed CoM front man is signed up, I'm having a meet up with him to show him the ropes, so I'll share his account when he's active :)

The music is cool but I really like the video. We often forget how many people are struggling on the streets, especially in winter. It's freezing outside but they have no place to go.
I particularly liked the scene with him standing in front of the lambo. Some people can afford such luxury cars while others don't even have shelters.
Your message is strong and very well present in the video.

Indeed, it's a powerful subject, and I'm pleased the message came across in the right way.
The Lamborghini bit was a dream to stumble across. We shot totally guerilla style around the city and came across this ridiculous luxury car parked FULLY ON THE PAVEMENT. I mean how entitled is that? It was baffling to see.
Indeed we need to give the homeless the support they need but sadly the authorities aren't helping either.
Let's help each other and share what we have over these winter months!
I believe that people who do such things got their money for 'free'. My brother says that their work is called 'SON' :D and I think it's true in many cases. I know a couple of very wealthy people who are down to earth and helping where they can. They are sharing their wealth with less privileged and they don't behave like xxx ;)
I agree. It's sad to see that the authorities are not taking care of their people. I hope that at least they provide some shelter for homeless..

That's so true, but never thought of entitlement like that.
Indeed there are people with substantial money who are like the rest of society and treat those around them with courtesy.
It's been really interesting being involved in this track/artist/video. Brings what we do have to the fore.

Also @delishtreats, the 'private dancer'/Tina Turner reference was entirely Clay - the actors - doing!
He wrote the paper sign himself and then started signing that song crudely as the puppet danced. That was a stroke of genius!
