This is my fourth in a series of blogs where I talk to a Crypto/Steemit Enthusiast over Coffee

These were amongst the first words myself and @pennsif exchanged on Discord. These were his words just before we caught upon on life on Steemit. I thought it was a very appropriate quote considering what I learnt about this experienced Steemian Homesteader on our first call.

Today I’m writing about my illuminating video coffee chat on discord with @pennsif.

We had so much to talk about and have summarised for the purposes of the blog to:

Life on Steemit

@pennsif is based in Wales & joined Steemit in June 2017 when Steem was just $0.8.
He is actively involved in promoting Steemit in Wales including arranging the first meet up in Wales which you can read about here and is heavily involved in the Homesteading/Prepping community and hosts a weekly show on the MSP Waves Radio.

@pennsif is a hugely committed Steemian and writes from rural Wales with opinions on a huge variety of interesting topics.

Homesteading/ Prepping an intro

@Pennsif runs a smallholding homestead where self-sufficiency is key, his land incorporates woodland, raised borders, greenhouses, chickens and more. He joined Steemit with the intent to learn and connect with more homesteaders from around the world and has done just that. @Pennsif records a database of Homesteaders and Preppers on Steemit.

His first publication of the database 8 months ago had around 20 homesteaders and his next issue, due out soon, will record over 400 global homesteaders. The last published list is here.

His significant investment in Steemit blogging and the well-respected member of the community he has become will mean he can invest in more sustainable renewable energy technology on his homestead in 2018/2019.

Isn't it great to be working towards that vision and what a great reward for his hard work.

Radio Waves

@pennsif runs 3 shows on MSPWaves.com – the radio show that is brought to the “airwaves” by the Peace, Abundance & Liberty Discord Group / Minnow Support Project. He is always on the look out for guests and curators, particularly for the new show coming up which has a broad spectrum of topics.

Promo-Steem & Steem Commerce

@pennsif is an advocate of promoting Steemit in Wales and our conversation went further afield as we discussed the positive and relative impact that the Steemit platform was having in the developing world and the impact it could easily have in creating a new digital rich steem class and shatter some exiting sociological class structure. We discussed the huge impact a SBD payout can have for Steemit authors in Nigeria and Venezuela, relative to a typical weekly wage.

Another huge piece of work started at Pennsif’s door is the database of businesses transaction in Steem/SBD. The latest register/directory/ database published is here and it is this development in the broader use of Steem which will with bring new money into the Steem Ecosystem.

I hope you will agree this is important piece of work, as we begin to see more entrepreneurs and businesses using the blockchain.
