Meeting a Celebrity

In my life I have not met many film stars. I am not actually very fascinated by them. I feel they are as normal people just like any other human and this is a profession that they have chosen since they have passion for acting. Though when I see them of-course I do take a moment to admire them. During my last travel to Nepal, one of the Indian actress Manisha Koirala was on the same flight. She is an old-time actress, almost my age, so when I was in my teens, she had made her film debut and become quite a heartthrob. Then in the last 15 years she almost disappeared from the screen, barely some movies got released. She was also diagnosed with cancer and she recovered from it.

After many years recently she acted in a series Heeramandi, which is doing quite well and has mixed opinions. At the airport she was very friendly with everyone. She was quite humble enough to click pictures with everyone at the airport. Since everyone was clicking, I too thought of getting a click with her. I have never clicked a picture with any film star till date and this was a convenient one. It was not very crowded, there were just handful of people so I took the chance and asked her if she would be ok to click a picture and she said yes. She is an Indian film actress but from Nepal origin, her home is in Kathmandu and she travels on and off to Kathmandu, dividing her life in 2 countries.

Here is the picture. She was very ordinarily dressed, if someone would not know she is a film star then from her looks would never be able to guess that she was any celebrity.

Kathmandu airport is very small and quite an old type place. I loved this Buddha statue at the airport.
