Top seven animated featured movies of all time.
There is a widespread misconception that animated movies are for kids, but that is not the case. The animation is just a medium used to convey any story of any genre, and they appeal equally to both adults and kids. Here we have compiled the Top seven animated movies that take you back to childhood and which you can watch as many times as you want.
Snow White and the seven dwarfs: Released in the year 1937, the movie is till date one of the top animated movies of all time. Despite the fact that Finding Dory was the most grossed movie of the Disney productions, taking inflation into account will make the Snow White movie to be the highest grosser in the feature film category.
Adventures of Prince Achmed: The feature film from German-born woman director Lotte Reiniger, this movie was released well before the Disney’s Snow White in 1926. The movie was inspired by the famous “One thousand and one nights” speaking of a prince who takes on magical adventures.
Beauty and the Beast: It was the first film in animation to be screened in the New York Film Festival and was also the first to be nominated for the best feature film category in Oscars. Until date, only two other animation movies other than Beauty and the beast to have been chosen in this category.
Spirited away: Despite having been released more than two decades back, the Miyazaki classic continues to rule the film category for the highest grossing feature in Japan. The film also picked up the award for the Best animated feature in Oscars and was the only Japanese hand-drawn movie to have received this award.
Toy Story: Speaking of animations and not mentioning Toy story is a crime. Released I 1995, this was the first feature film animated with computers. The director of the movie, John Lasseter received the first award for producing a 100% animated feature film in Oscars. It was also the first movie in animation category to win an Oscar for the Best original screenplay. There have been several installments of Toy Story released so far.
Finding Nemo: Yet another movie from Disney, which also happened to be the prequel to the famous film Finding Dory. The movie carries both fun and sentiments in equal parts. The story revolves around a father fish searching for his son Nemo and the adventures that he comes across on the way to the rescue.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit: The movie released in the year 1988 and was a breaking movie in the category of animation. While it may not have been the first movie to have live and cartoon characters in the mix, it was the first one to come with an exciting, ambitious storyline. It was also the most expensive film of its time.
(While these are some evergreen animation classics, there are still other movies that demand your attention every time like Finding Dory, Wall E, Inside Out and more!)
