John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum
This was a movie that I was looking forward to after the Avengers Endgame as there weren’t many great choices from the upcoming list here. It did not disappoint me. Infact I left the theatres quite happy that I managed to watch this it at the multiplex. It was great!
I won’t get too much into the stoyline and spoil the movie for you but suffice to say it packs a punch. There’s a lot of death and blood in the movie which is expecting in something of this genre and true to its style it meets your expectation in terms of action and exceeds a couple of times.
It’s brutal in some areas but I find John to be more on the defensive in this movie as opposed to being an aggressor in the previous edition. I would have preferred more of the latter as it’s awesome to watch him go on the hunt. However, it remained fun to watch and I found myself on the edge of the seat during a couple of action sequences.
I watched it in a packed screening on a Saturday night. The theatre delayed the movie so more people coming in late could watch it. Suffice to say the screening was anything but quiet as the audience cheered when John made a brutal kill and went quiet as he took a hit.
It was also great to watch how well coordinated these action sequences were. It takes so much effort to make a movie like this. They had some great guys in the actions scenes.
One cannot help but find some flaws in the plot or storyline. The setting isn’t too realistic ofcourse but for the sake of a good action flick I was willing to forget and simply watch it for what it is a fast paced action movie that keeps you gripped to your seat.
I’m hoping there will be a fourth movie in the series where John is less on the defence and more on the offense and I also hope they delve deeper into his world if they make another movie.
Overall it was good value for money and I would give it a 4/5 rating.
