We Have Acquired a Mousing Cat
No mice caught yet though, Edgar the Cat is still hiding from all of us. He ran around for a couple seconds when we first let him out of the cat carrier, and since has been laying extremely low down in the basement. Hopefully in a couple days he comes out and gets these mice. The pictures I have are just screenshots from a video I took, sorry for the terrible quality, but we literally only saw Edgar for 15 seconds.

Today the mouse was mocking me more than ever before.
All I could hear was the loudest scratching and thudding noises coming from my kitchen this morning, I thought these things are nocturnal? And then it decides to get super brave and just start running all around the kitchen floor. I tried smashing it with the broom, it laughed in my stupid face and went under the oven. I have half the kitchen in the dining room now!
And I still can't catch the little c word. I got a big assed bucket with water and peanut butter in it, and I'm just staying out of sight hoping the mouse goes in the bucket. Brendan comes home soon and will help me take all the rest of the shit out of the kitchen so that we can catch this fuck once and for all. Yes, this situation now requires much swearing.
Okay, Let's Think Happy Thoughts
Our son Kiedis has been begging us to let him join Steemit. He is really good at reading and getting good with spelling, so we figured, why not. It will be a great learning tool for him to get even better at spelling and typing. He was absolutely thrilled to read all of the comments on his first post, and has been answering them for the last couple days. This is the coolest thing too! I've been paying Eddie his allowance in SBD at his request, and Kiedis and Stryder have chose to receive their allowance in STEEM & SBD too rather than fiat. It's an awesome new era and our family is thrilled to be early adopters of a brand new way of living life. Ditching fiat and using our own currencies instead. This is all only just the beginning...

Whether the masses realize it or not they all already use digital currency as there isn't even half the amount of actual paper printed to back their digital atm currency. And I just saw that now that Amazon is opening brick and morter stores, they accept amazon plus or credit/debit cards but NO CASH. So anyone who hides cash in their mattress, coffee cans or safe better start converting it to BTC or something equivalent or they'll be left in the dust. Interesting times we are living in.
I got a bucket with some water and pb set up in there, it's not the craziest of contraptions, but here's to hoping!

We have snow rain mix. We have as yet to lose power, so that is good. @winstonalden did go in to the city today (trains were running) but its grey and misty over the sea as the temp is at 40 F and then rain and snow. I am hoping it turns to all rain and washes this away but if the temp drops, we'll get ice then limbs fall power lines snap no power same ole same old.
Keep warm and safe and safe return for you hubby and sons. Good luck with the mouse too. I'm expecting him, when you catch him, to have either a superhero cape on or glasses and sweater vest like the smart son mouse in that christmas cartoon 'twas the night before christmas'. :)

Yeah they are unbelievably loud for such tiny things!! On a good note, Edgar is making herself comfortable upstairs now and should be getting us a prize soon!

This is just so awesome to have the whole family on Steemit. Good for them wanting to be paid in SBD or steem. It is the way of the future. I like the video in the living room. Reminds me of when my boys were younger. Those were the best days. This mouse is too smart for his own good. The cat will come out and eventually, the mouse will be a goner.
It's so hard to stay in the moment and enjoy it to the fullest while they are young, I hear it so often from Moms who's kids are grown, that these are the best days. Thank you for reminding me again Ceci <3 <3 Hugs!!

Oh, good you have a cat now. Yes you have to get all the food a mouse can get into a plastic bin or bucket with a lid. They will eat through cardboard and plastic bags. When the peanut butter is the only food it can get to then you might get that mouse.
Hopefully your cat will feel more a home and will go after the mouse.
