MAINTENANCE IS MISSING
Great Minds,
Today I want to bring to fore a missing link in our relationship, a missing point in our way to success. We used to be at our best, we used to be very good at something. In fact people know us for a specific talent, skill and perhaps we have even won Award on it. But all of a sudden we are not there. It seems something is wrong and sometimes we blame our enemies and even our next successful person. The fact is there is something missing and that is maintenance. You can call it practice, servicing and constant learning. It is therefore important you get this missing point fixed if you must remain at your best and be successful. This piece explore the various maintenance phases we need to revisit and put in place in order to regain our lost GLORY. Let's go.

Let me start by defining maintenance, it involves servicing, overhauling, cleaning and or activities carried out to bring an equipment or a thing to its original state. I have an engineering background hence my choice of words. From the definition above, simply put maintenance involves all activities carried out to keep a thing or bring it back to its original state. You see everyone one of us has either an inert talent or skills we developed. To some point we were proud of ourselves and people also praised us for excellent performance. Lo and behold, we are now past tense, people now refer to us as he was the best Writer, he was a good Basketballer, what has happened? What has gone wrong? The very simple answer is that maintenance is missing.
A brilliant student will remain brilliant if he keeps studying his books and making researches as usual. A good athlete will keep in form and continue to do well if he practices.

In fact he will get better and best over time if a proper maintenance is kept. Somehow, people get carried away by their successes that they forgot that there are more successes ahead to achieve. An engine will break down and become inefficient and subsequently become condemned and thrown away if proper servicing and other maintenance activities are not carried out as at when due. Same to human beings, you will become irrelevant and outdated if you don't maintain yourself. We are in a rapidly changing world, and for you to be relevant and successful in what you do, you must constantly develop yourself, practice, learn and make researches about your field and area of interest. Find out the new ways of doing things, be innovative and daring. Training and retrain. These are the maintenance processes, the missing link we must fix. When a relationship is first built, there is this overflowing joy, the desire to meet each other is strong and burning. Then came a sudden cold feet, no one is happy with the other, little by little and the relationship suffers and finally crashed. What happened? Let's check back; before you used to call each other at least once or twice a day. You bought gifts for each other and nicknamed yourselves. Ask yourself are you still doing all these. Everything dies when there is no maintenance. Yes you heard me right everything including love and human beings die when lacking maintenance.

On the whole, work on yourself, practice, continue in the things you were doing before that fetched you winning. Seek to continually improve on it. Get new ideas and be ready to make changes where possible. Remember, your target is to win and keep winning.
