Steem - Drivers Wanted! 🚙
While waiting at a red light recently, I found myself staring at a similar sign clinging to the back of a van. Drivers Wanted. Now this company was, literally, looking for people to drive their vans. But, the simple phrase hit me on a much deeper level.
Of course they want drivers, I thought. What company wouldn't? People who are self-motivated. People who continually move forward while trying to accomplish a task or goal. What drives these people? What drives you? Fear? Love? Curiosity? It's probably a combination of many things. Our minds are a complex place, indeed.
Whatever the reasons, the intended result is still the same. Arriving at a destination. Where do you want to be today, tomorrow, a year from now...? Dreams are nice. But, without action, they remain a mere fantasy. This simple phrase can be applied to many aspects of our lives. Especially to us Steemians.
With so much pessimism looming over the blockchain due to the upcoming hardfork, motivation is as important now as it's ever been. Will you continue driving towards your destination or will you pull off at the next off-ramp as so many have already done? Me? I plan to keep on driving and hope my vehicle doesn't break down. 😁
I'll close this post with a humorous little story. Years ago I worked at a car dealership. One day my phone rang and a young man on the line asked me if we were still looking for drivers. I thought, of course we're looking for drivers, we sell cars.
What I said was, "I'm sorry?"
"I just saw one of your commercials and it said you were looking for drivers."
I was perplexed. "Let me give you the number to our human resources office. They do all of the hiring."
About ten minutes after the phone call ended, it finally hit me. I was working at a Volkswagen dealership. He had just seen a Volkswagen commercial. Back then, their slogan was...Drivers wanted. I have no idea if he was serious or trying to prank me. Either way, my co-workers and I got a good chuckle out of it.

Me? I am just going to keep on, keeping on and doing me. Once the sorting hat is done then I will decide which "car" to jump on and still do me.

Perfectly said. I plan on driving also but it would be nice to know if I can hitch a ride with you in case my car breaks down. LOL! If that guy on the phone was pulling your leg, he got a good chuckle too. : )
