Motivation Monday: Invest in Your Health and Train! You Will Benefit in the Long Run

It's Monday again and a new week begins. A new week of opportunity to work on accomplishing your personal goals and investing in your physical and mental well-being!

Monday Motivation

With this post, I am starting my 'Monday Motivation blog-post series', in which I will share some of my thoughts about a topic that I have been thinking about or that has touched my life lately. Since a picture says more than a 1,000 words, I will give my best to add a self-made picture for motivational purposes in every post.

Today, I want to encourage you to move and train consistently. While watching the Spain vs. Russia soccer game today, me and an Italian friend talked about training as a tool for injury prevention. He told me his story about his two shoulder surgeries and how he was training for 6 months to gain back range of motion and stability in his right shoulder. He works many hours as a business consultant now, so he lacks time for working out regularly. He explained, he really misses training and moving more to balance his desk job,

I told him that, however crazy packed his weekly schedule might be, he should set priorities and take some time for training. Regular movement and training is an investment in your health. And health is wealth! Regular training will help prevent possible future injuries. It will also strengthen and prepare our bodies as well as our mind for the upcoming challenges in life. The right exercises will also definitely help with shoulder health.

"So remember, you are better off training 20 minutes every day than hitting the gym once per week for 3 hours. That's because consistency beats intensity in the long term!! ​Life is a marathon and not a sprint, so prepare for the long run."
