Stone lions of Bhaktapur
The story goes that there was once a temple that this pair of stone lions were guarding... however it was destroyed in the earthquake of 1934, and never rebuilt.
Hence, today, it looks as if these lions have nothing to guard any more...
I found the stone lions at the Durbar Square in Bhaktapur.
It is hard to miss these lions
Most wonder what they are about
And I only found out more about them after I had gone home and checked up on them on the internet
With the stairs between them, leading up to nothing!
The pagoda-like tower structure you see is not connected and actually stands behind them

Thank you, @pixresteemer! :)
I love it
Haha... nice to see you here too, @juancar347! :) Yes, I believe this is in your area of interest!
That's true. See you in steemit, too, friend
Wuau, awesome, I loved the pictures
They look more like two pekingese or Lhasa apso dogs panting away as they sit in the hot sun. A shame how destructive earthquakes are.
