Let’s make real connections
Social media has changed our life in numerous ways. Those who have witnessed the shift from personal networking to social networking can easily connect with it. It has connected each and every individual of the world with each other. The world has really shrunk and making connection has now become so easy.
We spend most of the time of our daily routine on our phones trying to make more and more connections with the digital world. We have thousands of friends and followers on social networking but we do not really know a handful of them. In the wake of making more friends and contacts online, we forget the importance of making real connections personallly.
My main motive on this platform is to keep the people motivated so that they work hard in achieving their goals and be successful. Making connections is one one of the crucial part in getting success. But the connections made on social media do not really help, if you do not know them personally. At least we should know our audience, our friends, what do they do, what do they like, and the most important how can they help in achieving your perosonal goals.
So, here, in this post I request all my dear followers to put down your basic details which include your name, location, occupation, interests, and your life goals.

I am @donna-metcalfe and I live in the Western United States. I also like to make jewelry. I am retired now, but once had a metaphysical bookstore where I was able to meet very interesting people, hear wonderful stories, and sell my jewelry too! I spend a lot of time in my garden and I like to grow things to eat and herbs to season them with!
My goal is to be a good person and to read as many books as I can!
I also like to meet new people which I forgot to mention. Getting to know new people helps in widen our minds. We learn to understand things from other’s point of view. Every person has something to offer, and meeting and sharing with new people helps in our overall growth.
The other thing we both have in common is that we both make jewelry. Would love to see your jewelry designs if it is possible. Glad I found someone with the common interest.
You are so right! We learn so much from people who live different lives from us. They have different interests and different knowledge, and different ways they see life. We can listen to their stories and learn.

First of all, I must say that I agree with the part when you say that we spend most time trying to make connections through our electronic devices than in the real world. I think the digital world makes it easier, especially steemit, because we can focus on the content on the posts more than on the appearance of a person as we would do in real life. The judgement is transferred on another aspect. So far my asumption is that when we get into the digital world we are going to accept a lot of people as friend, despite the fact that we do no know them personnally, on an idea-based approach. When you meet the people in real life after a while you might be surprised by the appearance and it is easier to get other it as you might deal with like-minded people.

My Name is Joel Postic, I am currently transition my life from France to Germany into the beautiful Bavaria where I will start a job for a fast growing company specialized in people identification per visio-chat. I am interested in reading, listening to music, hiking, bycicle tours and so on. I also tend to say that life is a roller-coaster and am confronted with the most extreme parts now, meaning very high highs and very low lows. My goals in life is simply to find the partner to share love with and build a family and being healthy. Money is not the center of my attention and appears to be a inapropriate term to my ears.

I mostly use Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw.
Corel Draw...and Photoshop only for some imagen corrections...

Your post is how I view things, it is always great to meet someone that has the same vision that you do. I really like the sense of community that is being created.
My name is LeNetta, I live in Grand Junction, CO. I currently work for the local taxi company dispatching graveyard shifts 😏 I love to paint and color when I get spare time. I read a lot also. My spare time has been dedicated lately to growing on Steemit. I work with @greetersguild with posting for curation, newbie promotion and motivation. I also work with @thedarkhorses #payitforward contests as a judge which others do the work and I get to sit back and read and curate them :). Then I have my own weekly post which I have called Mindfulness Mondays. It's a way to help motivate and help get a mindset for the week so we all can either deal with daily stressors better or even life events. I guess you could say I'm all about helping others. I try to get other postings in as time allows, most of the time...sleep wins.

Well.... girl, but that's ok. With @greetersguild. We really try to do what you do here. We have people that are setup to be greetes and scouts. Then we have people that write articles under the greeters guild account. That is one of the things that I do. I scout too, it has become secondary to my other duties. Obviously we have post promotion channels. But ultimately it's getting people together to where they can ask questions find answers more quickly. Get feedback.
