Nothing Gold Can Stay
Robert Frost, 1874 - 1963

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

This is a beautiful poem by Robert Frost. My personal interpretation on the concept he is relaying is that beauty is transitory and that we should acknowledge this and enjoy it while it lasts.

Perhaps he is speaking of a sunrise that is radiant and breath taking but only last for a few fleeting moments. I love the idea of the poem because it reminds us to be present and to take advantage of the things that are special we are surrounded by every day.

..... BUT.....

The truth is that gold is the ONLY thing that stays!
