Why do we even need so much money? What is it really for and do we all use it properly? How many poor people is actually out there?

in #money6 years ago (edited)

Sometimes people think more about how to earn money and what can they do to get more paid then actually think about what will they do with so much money...

Is it for our satisfaction or for our family? Do millionaires really need all that many for just themselves and their families? Do they have some goals or plans how to use that money but not just to get more by investing it?

It is true that there are people that are satisfied only because they know that they have money, but aren't sure what to do with it...

Why don't they invest it more in science? Why don't they donate it to poor?

Rich vs poor

I recently studied how many poor people are actually out there and i came to many disturbing discoveries...

  • Nearly 1/2 of the world’s population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day ($75 a month) and more than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day ($37.5 a month)
  • 805 million people worldwide do not have enough food to eat and more than 750 million people lack adequate access to clean drinking water.
  • 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty and according to UNICEF, 22,000 children die daily due to poverty.
  • More than 4 billion people still don’t have access to the internet and 16% of the world’s population — 1.2 billion people — have little or no access to electricity at all!

On the other hand we have these statistics...

  • There are around 30 million millionaires in the world and 2043 billionaires.
  • Nearly one-third of the world's population is obese or overweight
  • $400 billion is spent every year on illegal drugs
  • Roughly one third of the food produced in the world for human consumption every year — approximately 1.3 billion tonnes — gets lost or wasted.

Let's stop these statistics that go even worse every year by finding the answer for the main question of this post in helping each other and making the world a better place!

Great statistics!! It’s imperative that we do our part to help others.. afterall we are all in this life together and are affected by societal changes. My biggest goal in life is to be able to give back to those who need it most. It is much more rewarding to give then to receive!

Money is a tool (for me) and should always be that. It's great to work with to invest in many areas of life to enchance life quality of others and myself.

Cryptocurrencies as case will build bubbles. Andreas Antonopoulos predicted 3 or 4 more bubbles until the blockchain and cryptocurrencies establish a mainstream adoption in 10 or 15 years. Currently we are in one of them. There is a ton of speculation, hype and exuberance in the scene like in every new emerging technology with a final washout.

Wealth concentration is also going on in cryptospace. People with much money before and the willingness to invest a certain percentage will accumulate even more money and adding that on top of their exsisting money. But also new rich people emerge and stay and also many just for a small time frame of months or years with unrealized gains..

I think poor but educated people already took their chance in this space to help their families and invested early with smaller amounts in cryptocurrencies because in the long term that is the huge internet of money. But many don't even know exactly what's going on or don't have the access, the education and the courage to invest in such high volatile markets where the true winners currently not choosen. After the next burst which could happen tomorrow, in one year or 3 years the best survive after the cleanup like in the dotcom and in the end maybe 1% of all that market is gone and we'll see the sunrise of a mature market and hopefully also people who made a fortune out of poverty!

Damn..such detailed breakdown..A complete story of the cryptospace.I could never agree less..i see the cryptoworld as a goldmine that should be tapped into..

I like details very cool and with respect

Great analysis @onetin84 ! Thanks for your time and patience!

Sometimes is good sometimes is not good to depend on money

Nice post, acquiring wealth is a great thing, though sometimes riches do change the character of some people..but looking at it from another dimension, dont you think money is one of the major thing in life, is something we cannot do without...am very disappointed in most rich guys who has this great wealth and do not help others, whats the need of acquiring this great wealth without getting a thank you from the poor.. Thanks for sharing this

Yeah money is supposed to be the tool that helps us...not consumes us!
