"Money is the root of all evil."

I call, "Bullshit."

Rent's due...

"Just slip the rent under my door." — Marty the Landlord

Everybody pays somebody for something. The money is what ever. Right now, cash is the exiled king standing on the banks of obsolete currency, waiting with the gold standard to catch a ride on Charon's next boat.

Evil.

Evil existed before money was invented. As we watch the decline of money, we watch the rise of it's digital replacement. None of which has jackshit to do with evil. So, let's call a duck a duck and a bear a bear: "Evil is the root of all evil and its existence is independent of its tools."

Money.

We have some basic forms of money floating around: coins, paper, cards, crypto, metals, gems, and natural resources. We also have alternate forms of currency: labor, trade, weapons, drugs, sex, and politics. We've made laws regarding the exchange of currencies, goods, and labor. Fact is, the legal system is the decision making arm of a financial accounting system that goes back further than we as a species have recollection. - The Fiduciary Talk [1]

Every good that you buy, sell, or trade is considered property liable for taxation by the IRS. They've got publication on top of publication that runs through the "rules" of the money game. It's your duty to your pocket book to read the publications and to learn the tax code. But, much like the EULA contracts on every website out there, most people sign without reading, contract without understanding.

It's the language, Dude. It's convoluted.

Credits, deductions, gains, losses, earnings, income, taxable, non-taxable — these terms are found in the tax code (www.irs.gov: tax code). You remember? The rules. No, this ain't 'Nam. Yes, there are rules. That's the language of economics and its rules are defined by the laws of many nations. You know, the tax code. Play by their rule books or risk the ire of the government.

What Would the Dude Do?

The absolute minimum necessary to keep the IRS off his shit.

Where's the Money, Lebowski?"

"Hey. At least I'm housebroken."
