How to buy bitcoins? or any cryptocurrency, I am interested but don't know were to start.

HELP I would like to invest in bitcoins or any cryptocurrency out there that it shows signs of profit but I am not too sure how to even start, I only end up with digital wallets but no cryptocurrency on them, and new accounts but from there just wait for emails and then empty again. If someone can guide me and others please I know more people are just like me!
