MAP Rewarder: Distributed Rewards Rollover to 7 October

Due to the unprecedented consequences of HF20, this week's MAP Rewarder distributions will be rolled over into next week. Payments will, therefore, be made on Sunday 7 October. This has been mentioned in recent other posts, so should not come as a surprise.

This week has not been wholly disastrous, with earnings about 60% of recent weeks. However, much of that was from rewards paid out from posts and upvotes made during the previous week. Because of days lost waiting for Mana to regenerate, I expect next week's earnings to also be lower than average. Having said that, I expect the income for the combined two weeks to be higher than usual, so I hope this will bring some cheer to delegators who have endured a torrid period.

The "bonus" upvotes to delegators and the support upvotes to curators will come back on stream as soon as Mana reaches its normal operating level of about 95-99%. I have been taking advantage of some upvoting opportunities while recharging, hence will come close to the target range within about 24 hours.

A reminder to check your auto-votes and possibly change the timing to 15 minutes or more. There is now no good reason to vote immediately at 0 minutes as the curation rewards that used to go to the author are now recycled back into the reward pool. Voting so early is now pointless to both the author and the upvoter.

The drop in recent activity has meant the blockchain value of an upvote has risen sharply the last 3 days. With SBD printing back at 100% we may see a further rise in reward payouts, although this also depends on the market price of SBD. As always, do not rely on CoinMarketCap's prices as their naive averages do not reflect the true value on reputable exchanges; as of writing, the headline rate for STEEM on CMC is $0.93 yet the median rate is about $0.86.

Many systems such as the bidbots are slowly coming back online. With changes to the curation rewards going to authors, we may see such services being used more for promotion than to extract extra rewards for the author.

It will still be possible to get more than 25% curation rewards on a post upvote. If that has been your strategy, then it will pay to have a quick look at the steemd page for an article to check what the author_curate_reward is; if that percentage is high, you may wish to skip voting on it. I suspect many people will take some time to adjust their auto-votes or may even be unaware of the changes.

And finally, I hope nobody reading this continues to suffer from very low RC. There are plans being discussed to help genuine new members. My advice is that the rewards on Steemit are not always a reflection of quality but also a measure of the social connections made by that author. Low SP members should think hard about what they wish to post and find out the best niche communities that will support them. We all started at zero!

New Features - Random 100% Upvotes and Free SBI

I notice that many of our delegators have relatively modest amounts of SP delegated to MAP Rewarder. I appreciate their support, and they are earning a nice yield, but the weekly payouts obviously seem quite small. As part of MAP's mission is to support minnows, we continue to give out two new forms of payout on top of the existing distribution: a random 100% upvote and a free SBI (SteemBasicIncome) share.

At the moment, this will be one random 100% upvote, given on a Friday. The only requirement is that the delegator must have published a post within the last 3 days that can be upvoted. I shall run a random number generator to select the winner; this will exclude accounts that manage MAP.

The SBI will be given out on a Saturday, please see MAP Rewarder Free SBI Saturday. Again, as SBIs are only valuable to upvote posts, the winner must show that they are posting regularly.

I hope this will stimulate some further delegations and will help some users make a significant return on their SP. But please remember that the first distributed profits will be received on the first Sunday after 7 day from the time of delegation - the cut-off is midday GMT on Sundays.

Advice

As part of our MAP Rewarder strategy, all posts by @accelerator will, at some point, receive further upvotes. I usually leave this for a few hours to allow our followers to upvote our posts before the arrival of a larger upvote. I know that a few have noticed this and are taking advantage of the opportunity to earn some extra curation rewards. Look at any post with large upvotes and you will see that some of the early upvoters are earning back even more than their upvote! The power of mathematics. :-)

To do so means either following just the posts of @accelerator or also the upvotes given out. This can be done within an app such as SteemAuto. Using the language used on SteemAuto, following and upvoting just the @accelerator posts is called the Fanbase; following our upvotes to earn extra curation rewards is called the Curation Trail.
