Monochrome Monday Photochallenge - Means of oppression
My entry for this week Monochrome Monday Photo Contest hosted by @photochallenge is a grim one.
One of the most revolutionary inventions of the human specie is the barbed wire. Used initially to keep away the predators and to mark properties, it soon became a symbol of oppression.
What image comes to your mind when you hear about barbed wire? I see prisons, nazi camps and other sad places.
The photo below however, shows a piece of this wire used to keep some shrubs together. I guess the owner did this because of lacking other means or mood to craft something more user friendly. 🙂
Check out the challenge started by me and @erikah, SeasonChallenge. We would love to learn about your impressions towards the Spring (these being the theme until 3rd of June).

I remember getting caught up in the barbs when trying to get in or out of the pasture my father had for the cattle. One had to be careful around the wire fence or the barbs would scratch you.
My grandfather used this mean to keep the cattle away from the crops. When we grew up, me and my sister forbade him to use it again. There was no point in harming the poor creatures for some potatoes. So he had to build a proper wioden fence. 😂
