Salsa League - Week 10 - Post-Game Report
Final Score:
The Warriors - 129
Straight Cash Homie! - 204
The Warriors were back in their miserable fashion in Week 10. After taking their 2nd win of the season in Week 9, the Warriors lost a brutal one to the first place team Straight Cash Homie!. There are rumors swirling around the league regarding a blockbuster deal between The Warriors and The Squirts. It seems like The Warriors will be dishing off Manny Machado (SS, Baltimore Orioles) in return for Clayton Kershaw (SP, Los Angeles Dodgers), Marcell Ozuna (OF, St. Louis Cardinals) and Xander Boegarts (SS, Boston Red Sox). The Warriors hope the move will give them the rebuilding they need to make playoff contention.
The Warriors Box Score
Batting
In Week 10, The Warriors were all around terrible. The bats finished with 99 points overall. Eduardo Escobar (3B, Minnesota Twins) led the team with a total of 33 points. Other than his solid performance, the rest of the team was in a slump. Odubel Hererra (OF, Philadelphia Phillies) finished the week with -1 after striking out 10 times in the week. Slugger Giancarlo Stanton (OF, New York Yankees) topped those 10Ks with 11 himself, but he was still able to manage 16 points in the end.
Pitching
The Warriors pitching staff is having some serious issues. In Week 10 the team combined for a total of just 30 points. Gio Gonzalez (SP, Washington Nationals) scored -5 after giving up 4 runs in 3.1 innings on 6 hits and 4 walks. Tanaka had a nice game with 19 points but left after the 5th inning and found himself on the 10 day DL. Overall it was a rough week for the Warriors.
Straight Cash Homie!'s Box Score
Straight Cash Homie! remains at the top of the standings after beating The Warriors in Week 10. Even with Gary Sanchez (C, New York Yankees) scoring -1 points on the week, the team had enough to get the win. Ross Stripling (SP, Los Angeles Dodgers) and Clayton Richard (SP, San Diego Padres) both scored over 40 points each and totaled 4 in the win category. It was a great performance by the pitching staff.
