If you don't know about @aggroed's Minnow Support Project, or the associated Discord Channel, PALnet, click here (cheat sheet here)and read about this amazing support project that's already helped hundreds of minnows get their hard work recognized in its first week!

Now that you have joined PALnet, you suddenly have hundreds of other people to network and share your posts with. This is an invaluable tool at your disposal, but it will only get you so far. You first need the audience so your posts can get exposure, but you must also engage the audience to ensure they keep coming back for more. This is where #peer-review comes in.

If you're somewhat of a perfectionist (like me), or if you're just wanting to put your best foot forward, #peer-review is the place to go to get critique and tips to help make sure you continually improve and grow.

To make the most of your visit, please follow these guidelines:

  • Before Posting- check out these tips from @sidwrites.
  • Ask For Specific Guidance. If you show up and only post a link without saying anything, you may be mistaken as post-and-run promotion spam and get overlooked. Please try to be specific about what you want reviewed, i.e. spelling, formatting, length, etc.
  • Be Patient. We're starting off with a small number of volunteers, all with lives of their own. If your post doesn't get answered right away, consider reviewing other posts in the chat while you wait. It never hurts to get more perspective.
  • Consider a Bounty. By placing a bounty for your review, not only will your post get more attention, it will let everyone know you are serious about feedback, and you're not just looking for upvotes. Not only that, it will provide incentive to help grow our available volunteers, which will in turn help the community as a whole. As an example, the bounty could range anywhere from 0.1 SBD for a simple review of a short post, to 1 SBD for an in-depth review of a long post.
  • Post One Link at a Time. This is not a place to promote, there are several channels dedicated to that. Please wait for your post to be reviewed before posting a second link.
  • Don't Take it Personally. Flame wars will not be tolerated. You will be asking people to be critical of your work, so try to use it as an opportunity to grow.

Tips for Reviewers:

  • Anyone Can Review. While we do have experienced volunteers to help, don't let that stop you from making your own review on a post that catches your eye.
  • Begin with the Positive. After reading the post, start your review with what you liked about it. Give the author a good idea of their strengths. This can be more helpful than finding what's wrong with the post.
  • Take Your Time. It is often helpful to read the post twice before beginning your review. It is equally as important to focus on the function and the aesthetic of the post, so try to read into the author's intentions.
  • Be Serious. This isn't the place to take pot shots at your rival, so if you decide to review, please do so with the best intentions.

Be on the lookout for our awesome volunteers who are making this possible:

@ljkenward
@gmuxx
@cryptonfused
@rhondak
@iddm1dm

Thanks for reading! If this helped you or if you know any minnows in need of help, feel free to resteem.

What is this PAL world you speak of....hahaha. Good post buddy! :-)

Did you say... PALS?

Lord. All these years (half a CENTURY, I kid you not), that song is still burned into my brain.

Congratulations! This post has been upvoted from the communal account, @minnowsupport, by r0nd0n from the Minnow Support Project. It's a witness project run by aggroed, ausbitbank, teamsteem, theprophet0, and someguy123. The goal is to help Steemit grow by supporting Minnows and creating a social network. Please find us in the Peace, Abundance, and Liberty Network (PALnet) Discord Channel. It's a completely public and open space to all members of the Steemit community who voluntarily choose to be there.

If you like what we're doing please upvote this comment so we can continue to build the community account that's supporting all members.

Hey, thanks for the mention! I love helping new minnows, so if you want a review and I'm available make sure to come join us in the Minnow project!

Greetings from one PAL to another. :)

great write up! I will be linking this in my next post to help spread the word. steem on !! (resteemed)

Thanks so much! With all of us spreading the word, in no time MSP will be a powerhouse.

I need to look more in depth into this PAL @r0nd0n when I will be back home.

PS: it is soo hot in Milan !
Upvoted! Be sure to post this on the giveaway I am doing so I can get @randowhale to you!

This is a great project! It's very positive for the community and to get everyone active, especially newcomers. I recommend at least trying it out :)

Oh man. I wish I had known about this sooner. I've already posted the first three chapters of a novel I'm working on and I plan to post each new chapter as I finish it.

If anyone out there would like to #peer-review what I've posted already, I would more than welcome the constructive criticism.

Here's a link to the first chapter and you can find the rest on my profile.

@r0nd0n,
Thank you for the helpful info I could use some work on building up the writing skills!

With the abundance of help I've already received from the steemit community and especially MSP, I consider it as paying it forward. Thanks for checking out the post, and be sure to direct any minnows that could use a helping hand over to the channel.

This is a good initiative. The #peer-review room is being spammed with links, not it's intended function. Hopefully this will help to raise everyone's writing game and eventually earnings

Well put, @gmuxx. I believe the vision is already taking shape, I'm just going to have to stay vigilant the first few days of this rule change for others to get the hang of it.

I wish I could keep up with you guys ,some of us read to slow and have to hen peck when we type! look up and 20 threads behind...
please do not consider this criticism,just a fact!
I do want to help,but am just to slow in my response time..
and read to slow!
I am doing what I can and fully support MSP!
namaste!
