MINNOW SUPPORT PROJECT
Well Steemians, I did it. Yesterday, I took the plunge and became a full-fledged member of the Minnow Support Project. I was nervous that @aggroed's initiation would be painful, but I gotta say, I'm feeling good! Like, really really good!
And why wouldn't I feel good? MSP has been one of the most amazing communities I have ever come across.
A new person comes into the Discord chat and doesn't have enough Steem to register with the bots...boom! Someone is transferring them steem right away.
Someone doesn't know how to register with Streemian, SteemVoter, or delegate SP to help out MSP. I guarantee you someone has a post explaining how to do it all, or even better someone is sending a direct message to that person explaining it all.
As someone that is new to Steemit, I am telling you this is the place to be!!! You will learn more, and make more connections here than anywhere else I have seen.
I know we have all seen the posts talking about how to be successful on Steemit, and they all mention that being social, engaging with the community, and making friends is by far the best way to gain a following. Those posts are all right, and you know what one of the easiest ways to accomplish all three is...Join Minnow Support Project! There are always a ton of people in the chat, just waiting to see what others are doing.
You've got @fatpandadesign in there organizing a pandacast to help feature minnows, the community rallying around @gmuxx trying to send him to Steemfest, @rhondak and @r0nd0n giving out post critiques and advice.
Interested in a specific topic, I bet you there is a channel for that! From Contests, Poetry, Social Missions, and Steemsports to a channel for just about every country you can imagine, and they are all active! You are guaranteed to find someone that you can relate to!

Ok, so you’ve come this far in this post and you’re still not sold…Well let me lay one more piece of awesomeness on you. Ever had a post sit there with just one or two measly votes? Had that feeling of rejection and sadness that no one has read your work? Well come to MSP, register with the bots, and you are guaranteed at least 2 votes from accounts that have hundreds of thousands of Steem Power behind them. All it takes is a simple registration; you don’t even need to be a member. That’s free money people!
You know this place is legit when you have the backing of some of the most awesome Steemians around, @aggroed aka Mayor of Minnows, @ausbitbank, @teamsteem, @neoxian, @someguy123, and @theprophet0, and that isn’t even close to all of the awesome people in there.
This is seriously an amazing place, and by far the best initiative to help Minnows I have come across in the month and a half I have been on Steemit. I saw you get into the group, and I tagged you, try to get to that "tag mention" and that's where everybody is.
It is not sending my chat in the app. Its shows in red letters "failed to send"

Yeah @mk40, she figured it out and got into the discord group and all registered up with the bots. Took a little time and tried a few different things but finally was a WIN.
I would absolutely have left Steemit feeling defeated within a week of getting my account had the MSP not been there to turn me around. It just gets better, too. At least it has for me. And I've found some folks with some serious writing chops. . .just sayin'. . . . ;-)
It is one of the most amazing places I have ever found on the internet. There is something for everyone! It's incredible, I never expected to get the feedback you gave me on my story, thanks to MSP it happened!!!

How is voting power increased. And why some postswith 10 upvotes get more money than others with 150-200 . Ive seen posts with 150 upvotes that get a dollar. Howis that possible
When Hardfork 19 happened last week they changed the amount of power each vote used from 0.5% to 2% making each vote worth 4x more. As for why some posts are worth more with fewer votes, thats because of steem power. A vote from someone with high steem power is worth more than a vote from someone with low steem power.

I just know I need to keep hustling and putting myself out there to people, make friends, find people with common interested and let things grow from there. This is definitely not a get rich quick place, it's a place to meet people and market your content as best you can! Thanks for your words of encouragement!
Even better they don't have to have common interest. Thinking on a bigger scale if you can find people that are at least worth a hello go one of two ways...lol.
Exactly, this is just a place for awesome people to come together. I hadn't written a story in over 10 years, got on here, saw some of the awesome things people are writing and ended putting an idea I've had down onto paper.
I enjoy the fact that its almost like just two people in a room having casual conversation. That instead of thousands of strangers saying oh no what are you doing...lol.
It really is. Someone's got a question, someone else has the answer. Someone needs something, someone else has got what they need. Just a cool cool place! And no A holes either.
A holes are everywhere people just put on sheepskin until its too itchy.
