Voting Bots Made Ridiculously Simple for Newbies and Beginners!!

I received some requests from some of my followers to make an updated post on voting bots. I made one 5 months back and you can read that post here.

In that post I indicated @randowhale is my go to voting bot, and 5 months down the line, randowhale is still the best!!

So if you're looking for just one voting bot, stop reading right here!! You've already found the one!! In terms of ROI, in terms of the immediate vote you receive, in terms of answering your queries, randowhale has been unbeatable for the last few months. Kudos for that!!

But in case you were looking for more voting bots to get more earning on your posts, please continue.

Let me introduce you to Steem Bot Tracker. May @yabapmatt be blessed!! An absolute gem for newcomers on steemit!! I wish I knew about this when I first started out on steemit. Right now on my steemit journey, I have thankfully reached a point where I don't need to rely too much on bots (and if I really wanna use one, I already told you which is the best!!) and I am making decent earnings on most of my posts, NOT ALL hahaha!! And that's a big thank you to all my followers!! But i know a lot of my followers are still at the beginning of their journey and might benefit from this!! So let's dive in!!

Once you go to steem bot tracker, you'll see a whole bunch of voting bots available :

On this chart you can see when the next vote will come from each of the available bots. You'll find out why this is important by the time you have finished reading this article.

Next you wanna look at the minimum bid and the vote value.

Min. bid is the minimum amount you should send to the bot, for most of the bots you send more than the minimum bid, the more you'll send the higher percentage of the vote you'll get. Now you may ask, percentage of what? Here comes the vote value. Vote value is the total vote that bot is able to give in that specific session. For example is a bot has a vot value of 100 SBD, it means this 100 SBD votes will be distributed among the people who sent bids for that session. If in a session there are only 2 bidders, for example person A and B, then this 100 SBD will be distributed between the two depending on who sent how much. In general there will be about 12-15 bidders AT LEAST each session and the vote is split between all. But to understant this concept simply, we'll still to the 2 bidders example.

Okay say A sent 4 SBD and B sent 6 SBD. The total SBD received by the bot is 10 SBD. Now the bot will calculate the percentage. A sent 4 out of the 10 SBD. 4 is 40% of 10. So A will receive a 40% upvote. Now remember the total was 100 SBD, so a 40% upvote will be equal to a 40 SBD upvote. Similarly, B will receive a 60 SBD upvote.

TIP 1 : I wouldn't be sending any money to any bot that has a vote value of below 20 SBD.

Now the next, MOST IMPORTANT thing to look at is the details :

Once you go to details, this will pop up and you should clink on Last Round tab first.

This is absolutely amazing!! This gives you exactly how much the bidders last round received for their bid value. You can see in the pic above, if someone sent a bid of 0.5 SBD last round to the bot aksdwi, they received a vote worth 1.01 SBD.
If someone send 1 SBD, they received 2.01 SBD.

Here you must remember that, even though you received the vote worth what is mentioned, at the post payout, you won't receive the full thing. 25% will go to curation. So the NEXT MOST IMPORTANT THING* is to look at ROI (return on investment).

In simple terms, the higher the ROI, the more profit you will make.

TIP 2 : If the ROI of a bot in showing a negative value, I will stay away from it because you will actually lose money on that bot and as beginners, you really don't wanna be losing whatever little SBD you have in your wallet.

The next thing to look at is the current round tab.

This shows at this specific time how many people have already bid for a vote from this bot. As you can see at the time i took the screen shot only 2 people had bid for a vote from this bot and a 0.29 SBD will give you a vote of 2.37 sbd with a roi of above 500 %. But you should also have checked the timer showing how long is left for the bot to vote and there is still time for people to bid and if more people bids, the ROI will decrease. I took a screenshot again 1 minute later and here you can see the roi has decreased to about 245% (still very, very, good).

And finally I took another screenshot after this round ended for minnowvotes.

So you see in the end, The ROI has decreased much more than the 500% we saw at first, so be prepared that this will happen at the time you are making the bid, which is why I said, the FIRST THING TO CHECK IN THE DETAILS IS THE LAST ROUND, NOT THE CURRENT ROUND. Checking the last round will give an idea of how much you are likely to receive in the end after everyone has placed their bids.

TIP 3 : Try to place your bid at a time close towards the end of the current round. That way, you will have a better estimate of what bid will give you what return. I would suggest to place your bid after the timer for next vote has gone below 3 minutes. But if you're not really fussed about such precise calculations, find a bot that generally gives a good ROI, and place you bid whenever you want and wait for the vote when the round ends.

Final few tips :

You should also have a look at the maximum post age column. Some bots will not vote if your post is older than a certain period of time, for example 3.5 days, 6 days etc. So keep that in mind when you're placing a bid and make sure you post isn't older than what the bot will vote for. Ideally you should try to get the votes WITHIN THE FIRST 30 MINUTES AFTER YOU POST. This will give you better returns after curation, but I know, it's not always possible because maybe after you posted, the next vote will be in 1 hour or something!! But if @randowhale is awake, go for rando!! He gives an almost instant vote, but make sure to check the minimum you have to send. It varies from 0.5 SBD to 1 SBD.

And you should also keep in mind the maximum suggested bid.

NEVER send a bid more than this for that bot or you'll lose money!!

Alright guys, that was it!! It's okay if you don't follow me, but do make sure to share this with your followers if you found this helpful!!

SBD/Steem donations will be appreciated!!

Peace!!

awesome post man you earned yourself a follower :)
but you could have gone in little more details though i can see the efforts that you have put into the post

Thanks so much for you input man. Any suggestions for more details? I'll keep them in mind next time :)

like how can you go in a loss in bidbots and what is a margin of profit what is max profitable bid then how author and curator reward splits

I did touch on the loss in bidbots (negative ROI) and the maximum profitable bid. But yeah could've written about the the reward split between author and curators. That was an important point. Thanks a lot for pointing it out :)

Very good and detailed tutorial I looking for to read. I have some doubts which will check according to your post.

Sure man!! Let me know if you need any help and if I know the solution I'll try to help you out with it :)

Thanks mate! :)
