Who is the Inflation Monster?
The Inflation Monster is the force that take the value of your currency away. They are what makes it harder and harder to maintain the same standard of living over time.
Prices of goods and services keep going up while our income does not, making it more difficult to purchase the same things in the future.

The most important part of this slide is that the price of the ski tickets actually DECREASE in gold gram weight over a 54 year time period.
I started looking at some @steemmonsters to figure out who the best representation of the Inflation Monster is.
Is it the Hydra?
The Hydra is like the Inflation Monster because it pops up over and over again. You chop one of its heads off by saving in one part of your life, but then something else becomes more expensive and THAT head attacks you.
Is it the Earth Elemental?
The Earth Elemental is like the Inflation Monster because under the fiat currency system (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_money ) the entire world now lives under, its as if paper currency grows on trees. Central banks have created trillions of dollars in paper notes, but fail to deliver VALUE.
No, I think the best representation of the Inflation Monster is the Animated Corpse:
The Animated Corpse is the Inflation Monster because of its grinding relentless perpetual pressure on you. Zombies arent really a threat when you deal with them one at a time. They are slow and stupid. You can get away from a zombie, but 200 zombies? You have a problem.
This is because 200 zombies can outlast you. You are a human who fatigues and has a finite timeline to earn and accumulate wealth to enhance your security and provide for your family. 200 zombies just mindlessly grind you down until they overwhelm you .... just like the Inflation Monster.
So how do we slay the Inflation monster?

We do it with gold.
As you saw with the ski tickets, gold will protect you from the inflation monster.
