From a slave to a master chapter # 41 - The key of Will, part I

Now that you have gained the key of belief or at least you are doing the work to possess it, it is timely appropriate for you to comply with an additional demand that the kingdom of love presents to those who wish to enter its territory.

That demand is to want to have realization in your life.

“Wait a minute”, you say now, “of course I want Realization, or else I would not bother to be here, to read the articles, to do so much inner work, to change my life and especially to go through the weary process to get the key of belief. Of course, I want Realization!”

But I am not talking about a normal will. When your friend calls you at your work and asks: “what would you like to do this evening?”, and you answer: “Well, I feel like going to a movie”, you do express a want that you have. That want is to go out tonight and see a movie. It is a normal and ordinary will which is characterized, among other things, by being momentary spontaneous, non-intellectual and emotionally shallow. This is appropriate because the decision to go to see a movie should not consume much of your intellectual and emotional effort.

In fantasies and dreams about the future, we express as well what we want. When a person, for instance, wants to plan his next vacation or her work-place after graduation or the plans for retirement time they must express their will. Even if such expression requires lots of thinking and some emotional force (like the desire for a two weeks vacation in Hawaii ), still that kind of will is not enough. The will that opens the gate for Realization is characterized by enormous energetic force, emotional foundation and extreme and sharp focus. All will be explained now.

The desire to shelter under the wings of the kingdom of your I Am and to establish a genuine relationship should be the thing that you want most of all in your life; much more than a beautiful house, a glorious career, lots of money and so on. Obviously, you are not requested to give up or to reject all those materialistic elements but in comparison, the will to manifest those stands far away from the desire to find your prince/ss charming.

The degree of one’s current will is the result of one’s life circumstances.

The longer you crave for something the more energy you place behind that wish. A thirty years old single man, for example, who has dreamt for his entire life to find his True-Love developed much stronger will than his contemporary married friend that although had wanted to have True-Love chose, eventually, to marry his high school girlfriend whom he didn’t love as he wished. Now, at the age of thirty, the married man wakes up and feels that his suppressed dream about True-Love is rising. However, that will is hampered at first by his mind’s interventions and therefore it cannot be as strong as the will of his single friend. Likewise, an average teenager female has a strong desire to find, one day, her perfect ONE and marry him; that is an authentic wish and that is what you should begin to develop. If you never even thought about realization and only recently you began to consider taking that journey, you should know that your will must be strengthened and nourished. If, on the other hand, the desire for realization has always been burning within you, this is the time to level-up the inner fire and strengthen your will, for realization must be requested strongly from the heart.

That leads me to the emotional foundation.

When a young adult wants to travel to another country and so he looks for the cheapest flight-ticket, the basis for that will come from his mind. When a young boy requests a bicycle for his birthday he demonstrates a stronger will that is based on the heart and on the emotions. That latter type of will is the one that realization demands; a will that you don’t need to think about because it always resides within. When you have such will the answer to the question ‘what do you desire most in life?” is always obvious. A will that is emotionally founded cannot settle for substitutes, good as they may be, and therefore eventually it has to be satisfied. The strong will that you develop will guarantee that you will always have the propelling energy to support your journey until you will create what you so want.

The third requisite is a sharp focus

Focus on being fully committed to the idea of realization. Express it in what you think, what you speak and what you do. For example, when your friend invites you to a party at his home, and he tries to convince you to attend by promising that he will introduce you to many girls with whom you can spend a night afterward, stop and think before you enthusiastically accept his invitation. What kind of worldview is reflected here? If it's for the sake of experiencing then wonderful. If it's part of your way of life then stop and think if this is really where your focus should be?!
